Longfellow / Kendall, a Day’s Destruction, Charles River, Cambridge, MA, USA
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is in the process of following up environmental outrage with environmental outrage in Cambridge, MA, between, between the Longfellow Bridge over the Charles River and Kendall Square.
1. Update.
2. Original Report.
1. Update.
Mishka comments on the final photo below:
**********
This is a photo taken around 7pm today (Mon Jul 8).
A machine next to a tree to be transplanted.
No trees cutting took place today, just some work related to transplanting the trees.
2. Original Report.
Given the extreme environmental irresponsibility of the City of Cambridge and the fake groups which run around lying about the sainthood of the City of Cambridge, this is not a particular surprise, reprehensible, but not a surprise.
Phase 1 of the destruction was the savaging of a beautiful grove of trees about the Red Line tunnel at the Cambridge end of the Longfellow Bridge. This is for supposed traffic management. In a responsible municipality, this outrage would not have occurred. Traffic would be detoured or routed through a responsible path.
Here are before and after pictures.
Now the bureaucrats are creating an engineers’ plaything.
They want to drain rainwater off the Longfellow Bridge. There are sewers on the Cambridge side belonging to Cambridge and belonging to the Department of Conservation and Recreation. These sewers are beneath the bureaucrats. Besides, Cambridge is belligerently destructive of the environment, and has a massive machine which does a lot of lying.
So the bureaucrats are destroying an excellent, irreplaceable grove between Memorial Drive and the Longfellow Bridge heading toward Boston to put in a fancy engineer beautiful drainage system instead of draining into existing sewers.
Besides, Cambridge is belligerently destructive of the environment, and has a massive machine which does a lot of lying. The Cambridge Machine, non stop, swears to the sainthood of the environmentally destructive City of Cambridge, and has been known to indulge in corrupt behavior to assist state bureaucrats in environmental destruction.
Following are a before picture on the target grove, from last week after one tree had been irresponsibly removed, and Mishka’s photo from today.
As near as I can gather, the position of the bureaucrats is that the public has a duty to keep the bureaucrats from destroying the environment, and that the public has failed in its duty. This position is a standard position of the Cambridge city government as well. The Cambridge Machine has a distressing tendency to parrot nonsense no matter how silly, and to practice corrupt behavior as necessary in support of the latest outrage. They also have tendency toward disinformation, as I have reported in the past few days.

Status Update, Excellent Grove being needlessly destroyed at Longfellow / Kendall
Status Update, Excellent Grove being needlessly destroyed at Longfellow / Kendall
Mishka reports at 1:40 pm, July 8, 2013, concerning the doomed, excellent grove on the ramp from Memorial Drive to Longfellow Bridge toward Boston:
***************
They are still transplanting trees. They are not cutting them yet.
***************
For our last report and a lot of links and contacts, please see: http://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-obvious-alternative-to-more-totally.html, going over the total needlessness of this destruction.
But Cambridge, MA, USA has all these fake organizations fighting for destruction of the environment and lying that they are the good guys.
They belligerently put our environment at the mercy of bureaucrats without mercy.
But they sound so good.
