Cambridge, MA, USA / friends’ poisons continue to ravage the Charles River.

C. The Charles River Poisoner.
D. The Blockage.

1. Latest Sightings Reported.

Thanks to Phil Barber for catching this.

The Boston Globe has recently reported on its website, at https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2019/07/25/state-officials-warn-of-algae-bloom-along-charles-river, that the algae infestation which last year created the public health hazard on the Charles River between the Mass. Ave. Bridge and the Boston Harbor is back.

The Boston Globe also reports at https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2020/06/25/charles-river-toxic-algae that the algae is poisoning and highly toxic to dogs who swim in the Charles.  A lovely sounding entity has expressed concern.  Unfortunately, as is too common, this “saintly protective” organization has a record of constant refusal to recognize the great danger to the environment of their friends in the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

One of the biggest subsidiary problems to the highly destructive DCR and Cambridge City Council, are these beautifully named organizations decrying problems and falsely claiming that these environmental destroyers are the solution RATHER THAN THE CAUSE.

2. Early Stages of the Poisons.

Here is a photo of first symptoms of the blocking of the poison drainage (see below), courtesy Phil Barber.  The colored water and the growth are, of course, algae.  The photo was taken in May 2018.

It was taken to the east of the blockage of drainage at the end nearest the Charles River.  See below for detail.

Phil got the following photos of the first known accumulations in the Charles off Magazine Beach, taken in September 2018.  Here are two groups of photos.  The first group is from September 3, 2018.

The second group is from September 17, 2018.  Note Phil's comments.

3. Documentation of Guilt.

A. Cambridge City Council.

The Cambridge City Council has funded the Charles River Poisoner to do more “environmental” work on the Charles River.  This work will lay the ground work for more of the ongoing tree destruction on the Charles River supported by the Cambridge City Council.

The latest outrage funded by the Cambridge City Council would lay the groundwork for the destruction of the excellent grove across from the MicroCenter on Memorial Drive in Cambridge.

The Charles River Destroyer, in addition to her poisoning (see below) has been the most vocal supporter of the ongoing efforts of the Cambridge City Council and the DCR to destroy 59 plus mostly excellent trees and animal habitat on Magazine Beach, located between the BU Bridge and the River Street Bridge on Memorial Drive.  For details, see the DCR plans and my related photos in my June 6, 2016 letter to the Cambridge City Council posted on the Charles River White Geese Blog at http://focrwg.com/agenda1.html.

She, using abusive Company Union tactics was key in the destruction of more than 150 mostly excellent trees, plus animal habitat, between the BU Bridge and the Longfellow Bridge.

The city council did not want to know what was going on.  Cambridge bureaucrats worked on that outrage for about a decade.  My video on that outrage is posted at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTplCCEJP7o.  The City Manager mentioned in the video was the predecessor to the current City Manager.

The video includes preparatory comments as to the Magazine Beach outrage, and includes details of the NOW IN PLANNING destruction at the Wild Area, east of the BU Bridge and the Destroyed Nesting Area of the Charles River White Geese.  Severe harm would also be inflicted on the Destroyed Nesting Area.

The Charles River White Geese are visible in the Charles River hunting for food next to the Wild Area.

In typical fraudulent behavior by the DCR, a “public hearing” was fraudulently conducted which claimed the reviewed project ended at the BU Bridge.

The slides included the Wild Area.

The Cambridge City Council did not want to know about the 150 tree destruction.  They have supported the outrages at Magazine Beach in multiple votes and praised the Wild Area destruction in a carefully worded vote clearly providing deniability.

So they have SECRETLY voted funds for outrages in the Magazine Beach destruction which, in addition to destroying trees, destroying animal habitat by adding new obstacles to the 39 year resident Charles River White Geese resuming feeding at what was their primary home most of the last 39 years.  In addition to obstacles, poisons were introduced.

B. The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

About ten years ago, the state legislature destroyed the DCR’s predecessor in control of the Charles River.  Fairly loudly included in the reasons was the destructiveness of the DCR’s “planning” entity.  Another reason was the failure to meaningfully communicate the outrageous plans.

The “planning” entity of the predecessor organization moved to the DCR with their plans for destruction on the Charles River, and, with the help of Cambridge City Councils and bureaucrats have been aggressively destroying in accordance with those outrages.

It should be noted, however, that initial plans destruction on the Charles date back to 1997 when the Cambridge City Manager’s outrageous plans for destruction were first bragged about by one of the usual fake protective groups.

The extreme destruction started in the 2000's.  Key management was by then Assistant City Manager Rossi.  Rossi was promoted.  He is the City Manager so prominently mentioned in my video, link above.

Funds were unanimously provided by the destructive Cambridge City Council.

One of most prominent of the then destructive members has since retired.  She recently been seen active in the dirty tricks on the I90 rebuild as a Cambridge appointee with a lot of bad action.  She voted to close an ramp to Cambridge from Soldiers Field Road with great possible harm to Cambridge residents.  I managed to reverse that vote.  Her destructive behavior has most definitely not been limited to that.

Dishonesty has common once the “planners” got involved in the Charles.

Notable is the Starvation Wall created as part of the outrage of the 2000's.  It was sold as an improvement for swimming off Magazine Beach.  Its principal purpose was the starvation of the Charles River White Geese.

Here is a photo of the Starvation Wall from the Boston side.  Another of the fake protective groups allied with the DCR conducted a “swim in” to celebrate the way this Starvation Wall would improve swimming off the Magazine Beach Playing Fields.  The Playing Fields might as well have been 10 miles from the Charles.

The opening has a second row of introduced vegetation to prevent access to the grass which has been the food of the Charles River White Geese for most of their 39 year residence.  That has been compounded by the introduction of the poisons which have since been rerouted to the Charles to create the algae blight.  Additionally, by a recent SECRET funding vote the HIGHLY destructive Cambridge City Council unanimously added to the blockade of the entrance for the Charles River White Geese.

The latest contribution to development professionals has been voted for in SECRET funds from the Cambridge City Council.  They have removed a lot of the bushes and installed more subtle starvation techniques.

A good example of the obstacles being installed has been installed across from the Hyatt Regency Hotel destroying a favorite feeding place of the Charles River White Geese.  Looks great unless you are trying to get over it with web feet.

One good example is “White Geese of Cambridge” by Eddie Sarno, at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2-xSIYrB5o.  He spent an overnight with them at their Destroyed Nesting Area and joined them in an overnight / dawn feeding by them at this destroyed feeding area.

C. The Charles River Poisoner.

This woman is heavily mentioned above.

fShe was distressed that there was vegetation growing in the drainage ditches created to drain off the introduced poisons.  The vegetation had the nerve to be growing WITHOUT CONTRACTORS MAKING ANY MONEY.  That could not be allowed.

The vegetation thrives on the poisons being dumped on the banks of the Charles River so it got very thick in the drainage facilities.  Naturally, the last think any of these destructive people would think of is ending the poisoning of the banks of the Charles River.

The poisons were introduced by the Cambridge City Council and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation during the outrages of the 2000's.  Prior to that, Magazine Beach was responsibly managed for perhaps a Century.

Here is a cropped photo of the key drainage ditch taken from “From Cambridge to Boston with the DJ Inspire 1 Drone footage” posted at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN-OmMzvHhw, minute 10.26.

At the top is the Charles River.  Below it is the Starvation Wall.  The L shaped area is the poison drainage facility.  The most important part is the portion perpendicular to the Charles River.  The first photo in this report was taken to the left of the main drainage site, at the end nearest the Charles River.  The Charles River Poisoner was described as her “kind of activist” by one former City Councilor as the only explanation I remember for one of the City Council’s SECRET votes.

There is a second drainage facility to the right (west) it feeds into this facility which drained off the accumulation in such a manner as to keep it out of the Charles River, until it was blocked by the Charles River Poisoner acting as agent for the DCR.  They used federal money during the first year of the term of president 45.

Volunteers were obtained for the work by the DCR falsely calling the project environmentally responsible.  Was using people who are not knowledgeable their only option?

The DCR is currently involved in planning for the rebuild of Interstate 90 across the river from Magazine Beach.  When I directly questioned them on their intentions of introducing poisons there as well, in light of the Algae infestation, the DCR refused to comment.  They insisted on waiting to announce plans until it would be too late to stop them.

The project on the Boston Side is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation which got the bridges across the Charles when the predecessor organization was destroyed to protect the Charles from the predecessor organization.

MassDOT has commonly been the adult in the room when it has had discussions on matters of destruction for which the DCR and Cambridge were fighting.

D. The Blockage.

A lot of vegetation was pulled out of the drainage ditch in December 2017.

That vegetation was neatly placed in plastic bags and left for the City of Cambridge to take it away.

Interestingly, one of the loudly false explanations for City Council indifference (before they resumed funds) was that this is state land.  Councilors claimed that destructiveness was none of their business (while praising the DCR’s destructive plans) They have since, in votes as SECRET as possible, spent a lot of money destroying animal habitat and trees while praising the DCR.

Here is how the Charles River Poisoner “improved” the Drainage Ditches.

This is the area perpendicular to the Charles in the above drone still.  The black area is yet more plastic deliberately blocking the drainage ditches.  At top is the Boston University campus on the Boston side of the Charles River, with the Charles River visible below it.  The Starvation Wall is lower straight ahead.

Here are some more photo from elsewhere in this orgy of destruction.

And a photo from Phil taken on September 17, 2018.

The big destruction of drainage was in December 2017.  Who knows how many more periods of algae blight and related animal poisoning will be caused?

Section 2 above gives early photos of the outrage rewarded by the Cambridge City Council with Cambridge assistance under the supervision of the DCR with funds from president 45's organization during his first year of incumbency.

More dirty tricks debunked from Cambridge, MA, USA, fighting for destructive Grand Junction commuter rail.

RE: More dirty tricks debunked from Cambridge fighting for destructive Grand Junction commuter rail.

The powers that be in Cambridge, MA, USA, CANNOT achieve the very terrible things they are fighting for in the light of day.  So they keep on trying to sneak in their irresponsible behavior as secretly as possible.

The following communication attempts to bring in to reality YET ANOTHER IRRESPONSIBLE INITIATIVE.  Copy has been sent to the Cambridge City Council.  I would not be so silly as to expect responsible behavior there.  But, by putting it on record, the usual lie that they do not know what they are doing is made that much less credible.

There is one obvious typo in my communication corrected as stated.  The original communication was an email with two photos attached.  The photos are inserted in the appropriate location where the reference is in the letter.

RE: The latest outrage SECRETLY being pushed by destructive Cambridge Interests, Commuter Rail on the Grand Junction.

Gentlemen / Ladies:

I am writing individually and as Chair of Friends of the White Geese, an Attorney General registered non profit defending the Charles River, its animals and environment since 2001.

Enclosed [ed:  inserted] is a photo of the most visible of the many free animals under constant attack by destructive people in Cambridge, MA, the Cambridge City Council and the Department of Conservation and Recreation.  These are the Charles River White Geese.  In the background of the picture is the Grand Junction Railroad Bridge, a key part of their habitat.  They have lived on the Charles River for 39 years.  For most of that period, their habitat has extended for a mile of the Charles River centered on the BU Bridge.

Destructiveness of the DCR, the Cambridge City Council, and their friends has restricted their habitat to an area which was their nesting area.  Massive destruction of vegetation, habitat and food has been to normal from these destructive people.

I understand you are having a meeting this coming Monday, June 22, 2020 at 11 am.

I further understand that very destructive people in Cambridge persist in trying to sneak through the I90 project the horribly irresponsible concept of Commuter Rail on the Grand Junction.

MassDOT has done a study on this matter which was PUBLICLY communicated and received strong negative comment.  MassDOT responded to that strong negative comment and to its detailed analysis which found that commuter rail on the Grand Junction would have no value to anybody except for Kendall Square developers.

So a bunch of destructive people are trying to sneak it through the I90 project which PUBLICLY has nothing to do with commuter rail on the Grand Junction.  EXACTLY WHERE THESE DESTRUCTIVE PEOPLE TRY TO SNEAK THINGS IN.

Such a project would be highly destructive to animal habitat, trees and the environment.

I have posted an analysis of these people’s “achievements” on the Charles River at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTplCCEJP7o.  In January 2016, they achieved the destruction of more than a hundred excellent trees between the BU and Longfellow Bridge AS SECRETLY AS POSSIBLE, business as usual.

Currently they are fighting for and in the process of the destruction of 59+ mostly excellent trees at Magazine Beach.  Friends of the White Geese, of which I am chair, has strongly objected to this destruction in many communications.  The key letter publishes the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s destruction plans with photos of doomed trees.  That letter is posted at http://focrwg.com/agenda1.html.  Significant destruction has occurred.  Destruction of animal habitat at the banks of the Charles River has been SNEAKED THROUGH AS SECRETLY AS POSSIBLE in votes of the Cambridge City Council.

Related to this destruction, the key destroyer proceeded with poisoning the Charles River in December 2017, acting as agent for the DCR, WITH CAMBRIDGE ASSISTANCE.

Here is my original objection:  http://cambridgema.iqm2.com/Citizens/FileOpen.aspx?Type=1&ID=1874&Inline=True, pages 146 to 155.

In 2019 [typo in original, 1999], the DCR, Cambridge and the Charles River Poisoner achieved a declaration of a public health emergency based on this irresponsible behavior.  We summarized that outrage in our letter to the Cambridge City Council posted on line at https://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2019/08/charles-river-poisons-algae-blight.html
.   The DCR’s bragging about the destruction is posted at https://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2019/09/state-agency-admits-to-poisoning.html
.
The City Council letter versions of these blog posts were received by them at their meeting on September 9, 2019.

The City Council showed their opinion of the poisoning of the Charles River by voting funds to subsidize “environmental planning” by her which are initial steps toward destroying the excellent grove across from the MicroCenter.

I summarized after destruction the destruction of the Charles by the Charles River Poisoner at https://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2020/03/developer-hated-non-paid-for-vegetation.html.

They are trying to sneak in further massive destruction between the BU Bridge and the BU Boathouse.  Destruction would include the excellent woods east of the BU Bridge.  That was included in the plans implemented in January 2016, but it was not done then.  A detailed analysis of this project is included in the video, link above, and at http://cambridgema.iqm2.com/Citizens/FileOpen.aspx?Type=1&ID=2121&Inline=True, pages 171 to 180.  The DCR conducted a fraudulent “public meeting” on the project announced as ending going east at the BU Bridge.  The slides showed it extending to this excellent woods.

The plans show EVERY TREE BUT ONE being destroyed in this woods.

[ed:  not in original, but here are the plans]

MassDOT has been often active as the adult in the room with two destructive children, Cambridge and the DCR.  The fight to sneak in this outrageous proposal have been part of that.

I have been active in the planning for the I90 project.  MassDOT is to be commended for standing up to repeated attempts to SECRETLY expand the scope of this project.

I have participated to stand up to the outrages from these very destructive people in Cambridge.  I have decades of experience in transportation planning by the MBTA.  I have two years employment in mid / lower lever railroad management with exposure to pretty much all aspects of railroading.

The I90 project has benefitted from my experience in two major positive changes:

1. It was my idea to close the left turn from the Soldiers Field Road off ramp to the River Street Bridge and to replace it with direct connection from Soldiers Field Road to the main planning area east of the hotel complex.

2. Appointees of the City of Cambridge voted to kill the right turn as well.  This turn is of major importance to people throughout the City of Cambridge.  I objected and did a little organizing.  MassDOT has been kind enough to save the right turn.

MassDOT has resembled the adult in the room with two destructive children (Cambridge and the DCR) in very many Charles River issues.  The Charles River has greatly benefitted form the responsible, constructive behavior of MassDOT.  One of the most important areas of benefit has been killing the irresponsible initiatives of destructive Cambridge interests has been MassDOT’s standing up to outrages such as the current attempts.

By legislative vote, MassDOT should replace the DCR on the Charles River.  Removal of the DCR in favor of MassDOT would be a breath of fresh air.
