Charles River, MA, USA: Cambridge has not started logging the Cambridge Common YET

Charles River, MA, USA: Cambridge has not started logging the Cambridge Common YET

The contempt for the environment which is the reality behind the ongoing and apparently accelerating Charles River destruction is just part of routine environmental destructiveness of the Cambridge City Council.

This routine destructiveness is combined with non stop environmental holier than thous from the members of the Cambridge City Council and their cheerleaders.

Posted on YouTube at http://youtu.be/FgQ9ojVuMxM is my presentation of an early objection to the Cambridge City Council on its planned destruction on the Cambridge Common, with photos.

This is clearly part of the plans for an ongoing construction project on the Cambridge Common.

Many trees are protected by slats strapped around them.  Many are not.  My check of a lot of the not protected trees has shown orange markings at their feet condemning them.

And like so much of the destructiveness of the Cambridge City Council, the destructiveness makes no sense.

The Environmental Notification Form calls of 22 being destroyed and mumbles about trees blocking the view of a monument.  Lying through omission is normal in Cambridge environmental destruction.  I would anticipate 22 is the minimum number.

I recently went by the Cambridge Common.  Looking across it from Garden Street, the southern border of this triangular parcel, I did not notice any logging YET.

I am unaware of any symptoms of remorse, either from the long standing City Council loggers who voted for the destruction or from the newcomers who received the communication I present on the YouTube page.

But the cheerleaders continue to lie of environmental sainthood.

Attached are photos of trees in the targeted area of the Cambridge Common.  The Harvard Square entrance will be devastated.

Cambridge's loggers tend to brag of planting saplings.  Contractors love to be paid for destroying mature, excellent trees.  Contractors love to be paid for planting saplings.  The contractors are happy.  They are getting money coming and going.  Why should people concerned about our world object?

Charles River: Winter and the mini migrations of the very smart Charles River White Geese.

Charles River: Winter and the mini migrations of the very smart Charles River White Geese.

1. Introduction.
2. 35 year lifestyle.
a. General.
b. Magazine Beach Playing Fields.
c. Destroyed Nesting Area.
d. The Bay.
3. Environmental Summary.
4. Political Summary.

1. Introduction.

I have been thinking over the current situation of the Charles River White Geese, and the more I think about it, the more I may understand their life style.

The big problem on the Charles River in Cambridge / Boston, MA, USA is man is destroying our world.  This is exacerbated by the extreme hypocrisy of the government in Cambridge which is the core of the heartless destruction of its part of our world, the part which surrounds this reprehensible government.

The weakness of the government of the City of Cambridge is that they have to do so much lying to stay in power.  That weakness comes from an electorate which wants responsible government.

It is highly likely that Friends of the White Geese as the political arm and the Charles River Urban Wilds Initiative as the feeding arm are the principal factors which have kept this reprehensible government from yet another outrage, while lying that they are holier than thou.

The government of the City of Cambridge are going more public now, acting through the fake groups, as is demonstrated by

a. the propaganda piece on Cambridge property lying of love for the Charles River,
b. the State House vote of $20 million to destroy hundred of trees on the Charles River,
c. the imminent destruction of so many excellent trees, with state money, on the Cambridge Common, and
d. so much else; I cannot keep going and keep going.

The vile government of the City of Cambridge and its friends are destroying, destroying, destroying.

One sign in that propaganda piece concerning the Charles River says a lot:

Enough said.

2. 35 year lifestyle.

a. General

Before the vile situation showed its ugly head, the Charles River White Geese lived in a migratory pattern of perhaps one mile on the Cambridge side of the Charles River centered on the BU Bridge.

They are a truly magnificent example of an organized community living and surviving in the wild not really that far from one of the most densely populated cities in the United States of America.

b. Magazine Beach Playing Fields.

They spent their days and good weather on the Magazine Beach playing fields, sleeping there or on the Charles River next to the playing fields.  They fed on the luscious, responsible grass on the Magazine Beach playing fields.

This is the way it was.  This is what Cambridge through its friends promised:  a law to the river.  Their lies of responsibility were exacerbated by more than a decade of promises to do "no harm" to the Charles River White Geese.

Before:

After:

Here is a photo taken when Cambridge and its friends commenced deliberately starving them.

The key manager continued the lie, even repeating it next to a massive photo on a section front page reporting the outrage: “no harm” repeatedly promised.

The top manager of that destruction now serves as Cambridge City Manager, replacing a City Manager who was not fired for heartless human abuse as part of a civil rights / women ‘s rights outrage, the Monteiro case.  The Monteiro case saw three levels of court giving a very bad city council the power to fire the then City Manager for “reprehensible” behavior (quoting the trial judge).

Now the corrupt tactics are to hide behind fake protective groups which function as company unions.  “Look are what we are creating.  Do not look at our massive destruction.” is a moderate translation, and they even stooped to corrupt tactics in support of the "creations" they claim are so good because they did not look like they could get support honestly.

The Magazine Beach playing fields are located to the west of the BU Bridge.

c. Destroyed Nesting Area.

In bad weather and in the mating season, they migrated to the Destroyed Nesting Area.  The Destroyed Nesting Area has excellent protection from the elements.  To the west is the created abutment upon which the BU Bridge runs.  To the North is another created abutment upon which an access ramp to Memorial Drive is set.  To the east and south is another created abutment upon which is the Grand Junction Railroad runs.  The railroad’s bridge over the Charles River provides protection to the south.

It is great protection for normal bad weather.

d. The Bay.

But there have been times in even worse weather when they were not visible in the Destroyed Nesting Area.  I reported on this stage in my report at http://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2015/02/charles-river-destroyed-nesting-area.html.  The Canadas filled the Destroyed Nesting Area with the Whites absent.

Here are photos of the Canadas in the Destroyed Nesting Area from earlier in the snow nightmare.

In the first photo, the train tracks are the straight line above them.  The Bay can be seen through the trees.  Cambridge is discussing a bike highway severely disrupting this peaceful area.

Cambridge’s friends have a lot of harm to this formerly pristine area, hidden under the snow, even after objections by the Cambridge Conservation Commission.  They continued that outrage beyond the tiny jurisdiction of the Cambridge Conservation Commission.

The staircase shown a few photos down is to the left of the first photo.  It was built as part of a package of lawlessness in which Boston University moved in workers before a hearing on BU's planned destruction and completed the destruction before the end of the appeals period.  BU denied doing the work until six months later, after the Cambridge Conservation Commission condemned them for it.  Then they started bragging.

That is the kind of corruption which is normal on the Charles River in the fight for its destruction.

In the background of the second photo is the BU Bridge.

The Canadas were there because they are visitors.  The weather was bad.  Snow was piling up.  The Canadas were in the Destroyed Nesting Area because it was obvious to a visitor.

The Whites were not.  The Whites knew better.

The Whites were off the wild area to the east of the railroad track and they were enjoying free water against the shore next to that particular Boathouse of Boston University.

Here are the railroad tracks which separate the two areas.  Cambridge is talking about adding a fence parallel to the tracks which would prevent direct access between the two areas, including splitting off nesting locations to which the Charles River White Geese have been forced by the destructiveness of friends of Cambridge in their beloved Nesting Area.

In my report on Wednesday, I reported they were even closer to the BU Boathouse, happily swimming in that free water on a very cold day.

The area off the wild area east of the railroad tracks has advantages and disadvantages.

It is protected on the west by the abutment on which the railroad runs.  It is protected on the north by the wild area in the steep abutment on which Memorial Drive runs.  It is open to the south.  It is partially protected to the east by the BU Boathouse.

Here are photos from a few months ago of the Charles River White Geese in that area.

Very importantly in severe cold, however, the BU Boathouse is a source of heat in the water.  The source may not be important during normal weather, but during extreme cold, it is very helpful.

The free water from that heat source is getting smaller as the cold comes, but the free water, even frozen, is warmer than the cold earth in the Destroyed Nesting Area.  The Charles River White Geese would like the earth of the Destroyed Nesting Area.  That is their home now that they are being deliberately starved.

Here are photos of the BU Boat House and the Memorial Drive / ramp side of the Wild Area.

The $20 million in state money would destroy the excellent tree on the right which looms over the Destroyed Nesting Area.  And hundreds more like it.

This steep stair case is west of the railroad tracks.  It was illegally installed by Boston University.  Currently it is the only access I know of to the Destroyed Nesting Area, the Tracks and the Wild Area.  It is treacherous, made more so by a pile of snow pushed into its opening in the fence.

This is a photo of the tracks from the Memorial Drive bridge just east of the illegally constructed staircase.

This is the only photo I can find of the BU Boat House.  This is of the front and theend away from the wild area and the current ice / free water on which the Charles River White Geese are living.

The Charles River White Geese are practical.  During the worst days, the bay of the Charles River between the Grand Junction Railroad and the BU Boathouse is where they go for protection and relative warmth.  They have their down winter jackets, but they are smart, well organized, and have a communal memory.

3. Environmental Summary.

The Charles River White Geese are an excellent example of nature living in a very heavily developed part of the world.  They are free animals.  The life cycle for free animals is to feed when feeding is plenty and to live off their stored fat when feeding is not plenty.

They have a very real communal structure and the associated leadership.

That is their life cycle.  They have adapted to a very special part of the world and they use what is available in that very special part of that world.

Decent human beings help.  If you can get to them where they are, food would be appreciated.

4. Political Summary.

The City of Cambridge and friends with holier than thou lies are rotters disguising themselves as holier than thous to evade the wrath of a voting population which wants what the lies claim and does not want the reality of this vile entity.

The probable firing of two city councilors over the Monteiro outrage with a guilty councilor now pandering to decent humans on Monteiro reflects the very real threat that that concerned electorate raises to a really rotten government.  http://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/charles-river-why-mention-cambridge-ma.html.

See also http://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/charles-river-civil-rights-letter-from.html, and the links therein.

Once again, Cambridge government’s sign bragging of its determination to be part of man’s destruction of our world while lying that they are decent people above the riff-raff.

A vile government continues to rely on lying to its voters while prodding, trying to see just how vile it can get.  The lies from the councilor who was on the wrong side on Monteiro shows the level of well earned fear from a government which has no business in power.

The Charles River White Geese are very Happy in Free Water on the Charles River

The Charles River White Geese are very Happy in Free Water on the Charles River

Here is the only photo I was able to get this afternoon hunting for the Charles River White Geese.

This is taken from the Boston end of the BU Bridge.  The BU Bridge is visible on the left.  At the bottom is Storrow Drive / Soldiers Field Road, the boulevard on the Boston side of the Charles River.

The white building is one of Boston University’s boat houses.  The great white area running from left to right is the snow covered and frozen Charles River.  The bridge above the river running from the BU Bridge to the Cambridge shore is the Grand Junction railroad bridge.

The Destroyed Nesting Area is to the left on the far side of the railroad bridge.  The steep hill / wild area is to the right of the railroad occupying the right side of the photo on the Cambridge side, but really not visible because of a tree on the Boston side.

The big building at the top of the photo belongs to Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  It was built as a Ford Plant and functioned as a Polaroid building for decades.

The Destroyed Nesting Area was full of very deep snow.  Unlike my last photos, there were not even Canadas there.

There were a number of Canadas in the steep hill / wild area.  Some folks waded through the very deep snow to get to Canadas.  Access was from BU’s illegally constructed staircase running from the Memorial Drive on ramp to a spot not far from the railroad.  That staircase is treacherous, made worse by a plow dumping snow blocking the entrance from the sidewalk.

Looking at the photo, the Charles River White Geese were to the right (east) of the wild area, further away than in my last photos.  They were happily swimming in unfrozen water next the that BU Boat House.  Most of them were in the free area nearest the boat house.  A few were swimming in the middle of Canadas away from the boat house.

I apologize for lack of more photos today.  I have two phones / equivalents with photo capability. The iPod Touch has been my main camera for these purposes.  It has always confused me with regard to even getting it running.  Additionally, I keep winding up in video mode.  I do not know how to get in and when I get in, I do not know how to get out.  I took this good photo and three useless films duplicating this photo.

I tried using my LG G3, but wound up with six photos which were simply solid, useless colors.

Here are a few photos from several months ago of the Charles River White Geese in the water off the wild area.  The first was taken from next to the Grand Junction tracks.  The other two were taken from the wild area.

They are happy.  They are in the warmest place in the area, the near frozen water of the Charles River.  They are free animals in winter.  They have down jackets which keep them warm.

CRUWI is feeding them.  Other folks, like the ones with the Canadas today, help out as well.  And more feeders would be helpful.  Come on out!!!

Decent, loving, people are the vast majority in our world.

The rotters fighting for destruction are a very tiny minority, as their corrupt tactics amply prove.  They have negligible meaningful support, so they lie through corrupt tactics, and call the victims of their corrupt tactics their supporters.

Charles River, MA, USA: Various ruminations from key entities on the environment and on Cambridge’s destructive Grand Junction highway proposal.

Charles River, MA, USA: Various ruminations from key entities on the environment and on Cambridge’s destructive Grand Junction highway proposal.

1. Introduction.
2. The Boston / Cambridge Olympics Proposal.  Cambridge, MA, USA City Councilor’s teaser for his / her motion and reality.
3. Analysis.
4. Councilor Cheung “defends” the environment, in contrast to his real environmental record.
5. Councilor Toomey on the Grand Junction highway proposal which includes heartless animal abuse.
6. Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Cambridge’s Destructive Plans on the Grand Junction.

1. Introduction.

The above MIT analysis will be discussed in section 6.

Right now, I am snowed in during the latter days of a multiple day storm.  I was out and about the first few days, but was forced to concede to nature today.  The last day’s accumulation of snow got very bad.

I started a writeup on the Cambridge, MA, USA’s agenda for its January 29, 2015 meeting.  I then got called away for a different write up.  The items I noted on agenda are of interest in any case to understand what decent human beings in the City of Cambridge are dealing with in the Cambridge City Council.  The January 29 meeting, in turn, was a rescheduling of their meeting the prior Monday snowed out by the Blizzard of 2015.

No immediate worries because of the snow on the Charles River White Geese, I would think.   Their Destroyed Nesting area is in a protected position and they are very resourceful.  I have provided you photos between storms in a recent report on February 1, 2015.

In that event, a whole bunch of Canadas were hunkering down in the Destroyed Nesting Area because of its protection, while the Charles River White Geese were off looking for food because Cambridge and its friends are deliberately starving them.  That report may be viewed at http://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2015/02/charles-river-destroyed-nesting-area.html.

My photo of Canadas using the Destroyed Nesting Area for protection is:

My recent report on feeding may also be of interest.  It is posted at: http://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/charles-river-caring-for-white-geese.html.

So, below are a few comments on the Cambridge, MA, USA City Council agenda for January 29, and an introduction into the Massachusetts Institute of Technology position on the outrage Cambridge sells as a bike highway on the Grand Junction, including an alternate, supposedly responsible route for the bike highway, as shown in the introductory photo.

My comments have been initiated by a councilor comments quoted below, but my analysis got quite a bit broader as I read the agenda.  Then I remembered that I am long overdue on reporting the MIT position.

2. The Boston / Cambridge Olympics Proposal.  Cambridge, MA, USA City Councilor’s teaser for his / her motion and reality.

What got me going was seeing an email sent out by a City Councilor telling folks about a motion he / she was bragging out.

The Cambridge City Councilor sent out a striking message in an email concerning a motion he/ she was presenting to the Thursday, January 29, 2015, Cambridge City Council meeting.

*********

2024 Olympics. Working with my colleagues on the council, I have sent a clear message to Boston 2024, the private entity that is responsible for the city's Olympic Bid, letting them know that many of us remain extremely skeptical about bringing the Olympic Games to our backyard (See: Cambridge Officials Oppose Olympic Bid in Boston Magazine). This evening, I am also co-sponsoring a policy order to make it clear that we as a City should not compromise on values of transparency and democracy just to host the Games.

********

The only comparable motion I saw did not comport to the words.  Maybe I missed something.  That motion asked for presentation to the Council of all existing agreements and proposed agreements regarding the 2024 Olympic proposals.

3. Analysis.

Excellent examples of the destructiveness which violate the supposed principles and values defended by the councilor are described below / in other reports.

Very prominent in lack of transparency, of course, includes the pitch by the Black Lesbian Female  member to study the lessons of the Monteiro outrage in her committee.  Monteiro v. Cambridge featured multiple Court condemnations of the since HONORABLY retired Cambridge City Manager for destroying the life of a Black Cape Verdian female department head.  He destroyed her life in retaliation for her filing a civil rights action alleging disparity in pay between male and female employees of the City of Cambridge.

The Black Lesbian Female membor neglected to mention, of course, that the matter has been heavily studied by the Courts.  She neglected to mention, of course, the decisions of multiple levels of the Courts that empowered the Cambridge City Council to fire then Cambridge City Manager Robert Healy without risk of suit or the penalties in his contract.  She neglected to mention, of course, that exactly zero of the then members of the then Cambridge City Council made any known attempt or made any known public comment in favor of firing the Court condemned Cambridge City Manager Robert Healy.

But the Cambridge City Council loves to proclaim itself holier than thou, whether reality confirms the proclaimed piety or not.

There are variations among members.  The most important variation is between the councilors serving their first term and those serving more than that.  The longer serving have had the opportunity to do more harm.

4. Councilor Cheung “defends” the environment, in contrast to his real environmental record.

I saw a motion from Councilor Cheung seeking prohibition of Polystyrene Based Disposable Food Containers.  This is another excellent example of Cambridge City Councilors lying about which side of environmentalism they are on.

Councilor Cheung has publicly supported the north south Grand Junction bike highway including its heartless abuse of the Charles River White Geese and other resident animals on the banks of the Charles River.

Councilor Cheung and the rest of the Cambridge City Council supports by silence, the proverbial wink and a nod, the State House’s impending destruction of hundreds of trees on Memorial Drive between the BU and Longfellow Bridges, along with associated heartless animal abuse. $20 million.

Councilor Cheung, along with the rest of the longer serving Cambridge City Councilors, voted for logging on the Cambridge Common.  Destruction of at least 22 excellent trees is imminent thanks to his and their votes.  The City of Cambridge, in the ENF, explains that many block the view.

Besides they brag that they are planting saplings.  Do that not those saplings make logging acceptable?  Reality is that both projects are money for contractors.  Contractors get paid to destroy.  Contractors get paid to “undo” the needless destruction.

And a bunch of destructive hypocrites lie that they are pro environment.

The new councilors are most definitely not innocent.  They have had the plans from me for months now.  Their “neutrality” in the face of outrage says everything.  Please see http://youtu.be/FgQ9ojVuMxM.

Councilor Cheung, along with the rest of the longer serving Cambridge City Councilors voted for “underpasses” under the next three Charles River bridges west of the BU Bridge.  This project has been condemned by the responsible Massachusetts Department of Transportation as a waste of money and environmentally destructive.

That Cambridge City Council vote and related “support” by others was also used by the destructive and falsely named Charles River Conservancy in its fight to get the $20 million for the massive tree and environmental destruction mentioned above.  The City Council’s belligerent “neutrality” on the $20 million for logging and animal abuse combined with their support for this outrage makes the CRC’s position sound credible.

Councilor Cheung has been part of multiple votes by the Cambridge City Council yelling at private developers obeying municipally created zoning in the Alewife area, while keep secret their own destruction of 3.4 acres of Alewife with the high likelihood that the rest of Cambridge owned Alewife will be destroyed for flood storage that should be built in easements under all new construction in the area.  They also never mention their own zoning of the area which builds exactly what they condemn.

And their friends on fake groups at Alewife and on the Charles River are fighting for more destruction with pitches that translate as  “Look at what we are fighting to create.  Look at the developers we are yelling at.   Do not look at what our friends in Cambridge and its friends are destroying.”

“Look at what we say, not what we do.”

That is the lie that the Cambridge City Council lives by and seeks reelection by.  And that is exactly what Cheun’s “environmental initiative” is worth.

5. Councilor Toomey on the Grand Junction highway proposal which includes heartless animal abuse.

A motion sponsored by Councilor / Representative Toomey would create zoning to encourage this Grand Junction highway without mentioning environmental protection to prevent the outrages proposed at the Charles River.

Toomey’s non stop support for the project as it benefits areas north of Memorial Drive without condemning in the slightest the outrage south of Memorial Drive distressingly bears the usual stench.

The standard game in Cambridge is “Look at what we are creating.  Do not look at what we are destroying.”

Toomey was key in killing use of the Grand Junction for passenger service the last time it was proposed.

Toomey also, however, is also a State Representative.  It is inconceivable that Toomey did not vote for the $20 million in Chapter 286 of the Massachusetts Acts of 2014 to destroy hundreds of trees between the BU and Longfellow Bridges on the Charles River, along, of course, with whatever heartless animal abuse the bureaucrats can dream up.  The euphemism for that destruction is “Historic Parkways.”

I posted the Memorial Drive plans as I sent them to the Cambridge City Council, at http://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2014/04/tree-destruction-plans-charles-river.html.

6. Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Cambridge’s Destructive Plans on the Grand Junction.

This is a to do of mine.  I have had this very detailed communication for several months.  It is worth a report on its own.  It would be a lot of work to write up, but I have reviewed it in detail.  I just have not had the time for the write up.

Among other things, the MIT document blasts the proposal for the highway proposed to run through the Destroyed Nesting Area, and suggests another route for the bike highway because the alternate I have proposed.

Going between the lines, however, the MIT write up is unlikely to be something to consider favorable to the environment.

MIT owns land needed for the Grand Junction highway north of Memorial Drive.  It is much more likely that the write up is targeted at maximizing MIT’s compensation for use of that land.

Here is MIT’s map showing the alternative route for the destructive Grand Junction bike highway.

The overview map is at the upper left.  MIT’s property analysis is at the upper right.  A cross section of the Memorial Drive underpass is at the lower right.

The proposed alternate bike path is numbered 1.

A more likely proposal is numbered 4 putting the bike highway straight through the Destroyed Nesting Area.

To the right of the number 3 is the responsible connection for the bike highway.  You see the blue line that bends.  That is the turn of Vassar Street.  See how extremely close that bend is to the Grand Junction.  The area between the two is an open area probably used for parking.  It is next to a small building.  It would be simple and cheap to run that responsible alternative for the Grand Junction highway through to Memorial Drive.

Here is a photo of the Charles River White Geese hungrily looking for food in the underpass.  This outrage is, of course, forced on them by Cambridge and its friends’ deliberate starvation of them.

Not to be ignored is the customary responsible behavior by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.  They have killed, at least for the time being, connecting the bike highway to the area MassDOT is working on on the Boston side in the Mass Pike (I90) reconstruction.  And here is a photo of the area MassDOT is protecting.

It seems highly likely that this bike highway "improvement" is a stalking horse for an off ramp from the Mass Pike to Cambridge when Harvard sees need with regard to its coming relocation of Harvard Medical School.  After all, Harvard bought the Harvard Medical School part of the Mass. Pike, along with the now former railroad yard, a few months after the transportation folks proved the off ramp feasible.  The area of Harvard's purchase is as large as Boston's Back Bay neighborhood.

The green sign straight ahead is over the west bound lanes of the Mass. Pike.

And here is the plaque in the fake group / Cambridge's propaganda piece in favor of Charles River destruction in a supposed art show in a very visible Cambridge City building.

Detailed analysis of the MIT comments coming up later, I hope.

Charles River: Destroyed Nesting Area between Storms, Christmas photos of where the Charles River White Geese Were Today.

Charles River: Destroyed Nesting Area between Storms, Christmas photos of where the Charles River White Geese Were Today.

Today, I went to visit the Charles River White Geese at their Destroyed Nesting Area and was amazed to see their home filled with a large number of Canadas, no Charles River White Geese at all.

I hunted and found a major part of the gaggle on the ice of the Charles next to the wild area east of the Grand Junction.  They, then, were on the ice next to a thawed area by the land.  I was not able to get photos of them in that spot, but I found photos from December 26 of them in that area that I had not passed on.

Here is the Destroyed Nesting Area loaded with Canadas.

The first shot was taken from the BU Bridge.  The third shot shows the BU Bridge in the background.

Below are the Charles River White Geese just after Christmas in the area where I saw them today.

Looking at the first, distance, photo above, you can see the Grand Junction railroad track at the top of the hill beyond the Destroyed Nesting Area.  The area beyond the railroad to the right drops sharply to the level of the Charles River, the area where they were today.

To the left in the photo beyond the track is a wild area next to which the Charles River White Geese were today.

Cambridge's destructive City Council is considering plans to wall off access between the Destroyed Nesting Area and the wild area with a fence.  Never say "They would never stoop so low" when talking about the Cambridge City Council.

Happier times:

From the same day, here are a couple of photos of the Charles River White Geese in the Charles off the Destroyed Nesting Area.

This area is to the right from the area shown in the very first photo.

Today's situation shows very real initiative by the Charles River White Geese.  They are off looking for what little food they can get.  The Canadas are taking it easy.

The last shot shows the Grand Junction Railroad Bridge at the top of the photo.  In the distance is the south side of the Charles River next to Boston University.

The following is a photo from Cambridge’s propaganda “show” concerning the Charles River.

Never say "They would never stoop so low" when talking about the Cambridge City Council.
