1. Introduction.

This section is intended to provide a short version of the problem.  It repeats a lot of yesterday’s post.  Both attempt to be a succinct condensation of many posts in the past.

The main reason for this post is to pass on the comments in section 2 which constitute new material.

a. The circumstances.

Last Friday, Governor Patrick of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts received the Environment Bond Bill from the legislature.  This bill would destroy hundreds of excellent trees on the banks of the Charles River in Cambridge, MA, USA along with the distressingly usual harm to resident animals

The above photos are to a key grove which consists of trees small than perhaps half the threatened trees.  The bigger trees are too large for viable photographs.  These are in and out of season photos to give you a feel for the corruption of the plans.  The Charles River is on the left in the first photo, looking west, and on the right in the second photo, looking east.

This grove is perhaps half a mile east of the ghetto which has been forced on the Charles River White Geese.  It is located at that point where Memorial Drive is a divided highway to the east and an undivided highway to the west.  The destruction numbers are 75 to 80%.

The third photo is of a family of Charles River White Geese, the 33 year resident gaggle which is the direct subject of accelerating and heartless abuse from entities which lie of their own environmental sainthood.

This is the Environment Bond Bill.  The terrible stuff is given the euphemism “Historical Parkways”.  The latest bill number I have is the House’s predecessor, H4009.  The House of Representatives called for  destruction money of $32 million in H4009, §2C, 2890-7020.

c. Specific Information.

The current destruction is in an area where the state bureaucrats have a goal of killing off or driving away as many animal residents as they can get away with.  This will be the latest in a series of heartless abuse of these beautiful animals.  The public position has been “no intent to harm.”

Prior attacks on the Charles River White Geese are readily correctable.  The destruction was cofunded by the state and city, and the project was managed by the person who is currently serving as City Manager.  Lies of omission and commission have been normal, along with other corrupt tactics.

When the bureaucrats tried to get Obama moneys to destroy these same Memorial Drive trees in 2009, they lied to the Boston Globe that these hundreds of trees were diseased.

Here is a photo of the railroad bridge under the BU Bridge which is key.  The local transit authority did a silly study on this bridge to determine if it could hold an off ramp to Cambridge of I90 (the Massachusetts Turnpike).  If you look straight ahead, you can see a green overhead highway sign.  The study proved an off ramp was possible.

2. More details on the destruction.

I have a better aerial photograph of the area of destruction than I have previously released, primarily because I was emphasizing the details of the reason why and the harm to the animals.  But it sinks in that the scope of the destruction can best be viewed from a photo who shows more of the area, but even this photo does not fully show the extent of the outrage.

Here is a photo which shows the river bank from the BU to the Harvard / Mass. Ave. Bridge, the next bridge to the east of the BU Bridge.  The double name comes from the fact that New Englanders commonly use names other than the official name.  The reason is because the real name is highly misleading.  The correct name for the bridge is the Harvard Bridge, but Harvard University and Harvard Square at something like two miles away if you take the short route, probably more like three or four miles away if you follow the river.

It is called the Mass. Ave. Bridge because it connects Massachusetts Avenue in Boston (the lower part of the picture) to Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge (the upper part of the picture).

Even this picture grossly understates the area of destruction.  The area of destruction extends this same distance again beyond the Mass. Ave. Bridge.

The dominant part of the picture is the residential neighborhood of Cambridge called Cambridgeport.

Between Cambridgeport and the Charles River on the right is a large undeveloped area.  This is the playing fields of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The ghetto to which the Charles River White Geese are confined and which is subjected to non stop increases in abuse is in the middle of the picture to the right of the BU Bridge on the Cambridge side.  The Grand Junction railroad bridge runs under the BU Bridge   It splits two wild areas.

On the left is the ghetto to which the Charles River White Geese are confined and which has been subject to a lot of abuse.  To the right is a hillside which is occupied by a lot of free animals.  The hillside is still thickly wooded.  It is partially used for nesting by the Charles River White Geese because so much of the ghetto to which they have been confined has been destroyed by the state bureaucracy and its agents.

The Grand Junction railroad extends in an almost straight line at about a 60 degree angle from its bridge.

Lining the river in both directions is Memorial Drive.

The BU Bridge becomes Brookline Street in Cambridge.

Just on the other side of Memorial Drive between the BU Bridge and the Grand Junction railroad is a building which stretches between the two.  Above it is a parking lot.  That parking lot has had a roadway built in it since this satellite photo was published.  (Or it may be shown.  I have a hard time figuring that out.)  The roadway is called the Waverly Connector.

It connects Brookline Street to Waverly Street which almost parallels the tracks.

The Waverly Connector was built with allowances for the Mass. Pike off ramp.  The plans called for extensive tree plantings.  But there were gaps in that extensive tree network.  The gaps exactly fit a highway pattern allowing for exits from Mass. Pike off ramp to the Waverly Connector and then to Memorial Drive.

Other diagrams have shown an exit from the Mass. Pike off ramp through the excellent woods which is to the right of the Grand Junction railroad.

The plans showed a highway built along the railroad tracks beyond Mass. Ave. (the extension of the Mass. Ave. Bridge) and extending as far as Kendall Square or further.

All of Memorial Drive to the right of the BU Bridge would receive massive destruction of its trees.  And the destruction extends much further, beyond Kendall Square, to the Longfellow Bridge.  The first plan is of the ghetto to which the Charles River White Geese have been dumped.  The last plan is at the Longfellow Bridge Area.

The land side of the destruction area north of Memorial Drive is the entire, large campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  A little to the right of the words “Memorial Drive” is an outcropping of land.  That is the location of the excellent grove photoed above.  The area of destruction beyond the Mass. Ave. Bridge is as wide as the area of destruction shown on this photo.

MIT’s map of its campus may be viewed at http://whereis.mit.edu/.  It shows, with less real accuracy, the eastern area of destruction.  But, if you are following the detailed plans on the destruction link, you will realize that the destruction goes even further east.  The Grand Junction railroad is barely visible above the playing fields.  It turns after crossing Main Street, which, in turn, goes through Kendall Square to the right.  The Mass. Ave. Bridge is at the lower middle.

In addition to straightening out Memorial Drive to receive Mass. Pike traffic, the destruction plans turn the entire area into an area not readily accessible by non MIT people.  This mile or two of destroyed area would be made, for all practical purposes into the MIT campus.

There is about two miles destruction.

b. Excellent question -. How the  Off ramp from I90 / Mass. Pike to Cambridge works.

While leafleting at the Destroyed Nesting Area, a gentleman questioned me closely on the possible off ramp from I90 to Memorial Drive.  This seems to be the real reason for destroying all these trees.

His point was excellent.  He could not see how they could get a ramp in under the BU Bridge with the railroad bridge there.  I pointed out that the MBTA proposal was to widen the railroad bridge to hold both.

I have so many photos, almost all of which have been posted already, but even cross references would be confusing.  So here are three items which I hope will be helpful.

Here is the photo of the Boston end of the Railroad bridge under the BU Bridge.  Straight ahead you can see a green sign which is above I90 (the Massachusetts Turnpike).  There is a lot of open space on the Cambridge Side of the Massachusetts Turnpike, and I have published a lot of photos of it.  There is very limited space on the Boston side, but enough to build an off ramp and run it over the Mass. Pike.

The plan was to widen the railroad bridge to its east (the left side on the photo) to handle both the railroad and the exit ramp.

Here is a publicly located  Boston University map of the central part of its campus.  The upper left corner shows the area in question.

Crossing the map is Commonwealth Avenue.  Almost perpendicular to it and moving to the top middle is the BU Bridge.  Running in a diagonal from the top left to the lower right is the Massachusetts Turnpike.  The thin line close to the top left running from the Massachusetts Turnpike to and under the BU Bridge is the Railroad Bridge.

This is the first time I have published this particular map.

Here is a map I have published many times.  It is a satellite photo from, I believe, 2006.  The BU Bridge is in the very middle.  The Railroad Bridge is under it.

2. A reprehensible record.

The destruction on the Charles River fits a pattern.

Cambridge and the local state agency destroyed 3.4 acres of the irreplaceable Alewife reservation woodlands along with a pogrom of resident animals.  They bragged about the destruction in the following photo which was attached to a puff piece .  The loudest explanation the City Council gives is to yell at private developers in the Alewife area obeying municipally created zoning.  The City Council yells about them obeying zoning created by Cambridge and neighboring municipalities.  The developers are showing behavior less irresponsible than that of the City Council of the City of Cambridge.

Cambridge is on the verge, with state money, of destroying 22 excellent trees on the Cambridge Common.  The explanation on destroying the most important collection of trees in the Environmental Notification Form is that the trees block the view, of a monument in that park.  This photo is from the Harvard Square side, a view which will be decimated.

Several months later, Harvard University bought a major part of I90 to the right of this photo to convert it into a relocation campus for its Medical School. The photo is taken from the BU Bridge.  Boston and I90 are straight ahead.  Cambridge, Memorial Drive, and the heartlessly abused ghetto forced on the Charles River White Geese is behind the camera.

A whole bunch of other environmental destruction on the Cambridge side clearly fits an off ramp to Cambridge from I90.

The tree destruction is targeted at straightening out the Memorial Drive highway east of the BU Bridge to receive traffic from the Massachusetts Turnpike.  The project would also, for all practical purposes, convert that part of Memorial Drive into an area barely accessible except from the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, i.e. part of the MIT campus except for name.

Cambridge Machine: Don’t look at the hundreds of trees we and the legislature are destroying on Memorial Drive; yell at the private developers obeying zoning at Alewife.

1. The pending outrage.

Governor Patrick has on his desk an “Environmental” Bond Bill which could destroy hundreds of trees on Memorial Drive along the Charles River between the BU Bridge and the Longfellow Bridge.  It could have horrible impact on animal habitat including the thirty three year resident Charles River White Geese.

They are being deliberately starved and the heartless pols keep finding new ways to abuse them.

The tree destruction bill is “Environmental Bond Bill,” the compromise bill between the destructive House Bill H4009, §2C, 2890-7020 and its Senate Counterpart.  The lying euphemism is “Historical Parkways.”  Last I heard, it had $32 million assigned to the destruction.

This part of a stench in which the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation has as a goal the killing or driving away of all animals living in the Charles River Basin.

The corruption in Cambridge is so outrageous that the Cambridge Machine has been fighting for this destruction for years now.  Their tool is to lie to people that the Machine loves the Charles River and, because of this lie, folks should ignore all the attacks on the Charles River.  It is anti Charles River to defend the Charles River.

They do not give a meaningful reason for destruction.  They just want to destroy, destroy, destroy.

And there is a lot of lying going on.

Here are two photos, winter and summer of one relatively young grove they are fighting to devastate.  It is at the Memorial Drive split.  Plus a photo of the beautiful gaggle of long term residents these reprehensible people are heartlessly abusing.

2. The latest cynical con.

A woman very visible in the fake neighborhood association who has done harm at Alewife and on the Charles River has a solution.

She helped destroy 3.4 publicly owned acres at Alewife.  She says to yell at private developers at Alewife obeying zoning created at least in part by  the Cambridge City Council.

And ignore how destructive her friends are, both on the Charles River and at Alewife.

This is how low the destroyers go in the City of Cambridge, MA, USA.

RE: Environmental Bond Bill - “Historical Parkways”

Dear Governor Patrick:

I write to you individually and as chair of Friends of the White Geese, a non profit recognized by the Attorney General since 2001.

I strongly encourage you to line item veto that portion of the Environmental Bond Bill applicable to the so called Historical Parkways proposal.

The extreme lack of merit of this initiative is notable from the silence which has been associated with its proposal and the dishonesty of its supporters.

The most blatant dishonesty comes in the name.  The “Historical Parkways” program destroys hundreds of excellent trees on Memorial Drive between the BU and Longfellow Bridges, along with animal habitat.  Attacks on resident animals are consistent with the reprehensible goal of the DCR to kill off or drive away as many resident animals as it can get away with.

The entity which has been most publicly associated with this outrage obtained signatures under false pretenses, and bragged of those false pretenses when it announced getting this outrage into the bill.  According to the falsely named Charles River “Conservancy,” $24 million of destruction of trees is “incidental to” $4 million of underpasses, which are in turn opposed by the responsible agency, MassDOT as environmentally destructive, among other things.

When this outrage morphed into H4009, section 2C, 2890-7020, it went from extremely vague to clearly listed, with a price tag of $32 million.

An excellent example of the corruption of the DCR is their preceding work at Magazine Beach in which all of the important changes are either exactly the opposite of their promises or were simply kept secret, as has been the current funding.

The promises with regard to the 33 year resident and very popular tourist attraction, the Charles River White Geese ,were and continue to be as follows:  the promises were “no intent to harm.”

So naturally, the DCR and Cambridge proceeded to starve them with a starvation wall of introduced vegetation blocking access to their food at Magazine Beach.  That wall directly violates with a promise in the “Charles River Master Plan” of a lawn to the river, and constant insistence by the DCR that it would allow nothing but water related activities.  The DCR, after the fact, rewrote the promises in the “Charles River Master Plan.”


The DCR promised improvements to the Magazine Beach playing fields which they divorced from the water.  The DCR reduced the size of the playing fields to drain off poisons they proceeded to dump on the Magazine Beach playing fields to keep alive introduced sickly grasses.  The introduced sickly grasses replaced responsible grasses which were there for the better half of a century, and which continue to exist west of the playing fields.  The responsible grasses do not need poisons.  One of the DCR’s next goals is to destroy what is left of the responsible grasses.

The DCR  attacks on the Charles River White Geese and other resident animals  have continued incidental to whatever they are doing in the area at any particular time.

Please show respect for the environment.

Please kill this reprehensible project.

PS: The falsely named Charles River “Conservancy” was announced several months after the first efforts of the Friends of the White Geese.  In between our creation and their creation, we discredited their predecessor.  The most recent efforts of one related organization have been to tell people that it is anti Charles River to defend the Charles River.  The related organization tells people to look at nothing but a building that has been abandoned for 80 years that they want to convert to retail.

Cambridge, MA, USA: Alewife Destruction and a hypocritical Cambridge City Council

One of the most effective techniques the Cambridge City Council has in its pocket in its nonstop lying about its environmental sainthood, is yelling at the other guy.

The Cambridge City Council has passed yet another motion on the subject of private developers obeying zoning at Alewife and planning to destroy privately owned property in accordance with municipally created zoning.

One key paragraph reads as follows:

The order cites action over the past 15 years with regard to private development at Alewife.  I must assume that the City Council knows reality reality at Alewife.

Here is a photo of the real record of the City of Cambridge.  The City of Cambridge, with City Council funding, has destroyed acres of its holdings at Alewife.

The trees in the rear occupied this entire area until Cambridge destroyed the acres of land between the camera and the trees..

Funding was provided by Cambridge’s environmentally destructive City Council, which has yelled at its fellow environmental destroyers 15 times now.

This piece of piety includes the following as well, and I reemphasize that I am assuming Carlone knows how destructive the City of Cambridge is.:

It is inconceivable that the acres destroyed by Cambridge did not also fit this pious noise.  And Cambridge bragged about the destruction in the puff piece which accompanied the photo.  It is also of major interest that the discussions concerning the Grand Junction were totally indifferent to the heartless abuse Cambridge and the DCR are inflicting on the Charles River White Geese and other residence of the Charles River..

Additionally, last I heard, the developers were obeying community written zoning, and Carlone’s motion says part of this PRIVATELY OWNED property is in Cambridge and is thus subject to zoning controlled by the Cambridge City Council who is spouting pious here.

When you are really, really rotten, lying can be the most effective way out.  Lies consisting of yelling at the other guy are very, very effective, and very hypocritical when you have filthy hands.

This is yet another outrage coming from a truly reprehensible city council.

Oh yeah, the Cambridge City Council is in the process of destroying excellent trees in  the excellent entrance to the Cambridge Common facing Harvard Square.  The Environmental Notification Form explains the destruction by stating that these excellent trees block the view of a monument.

The Cambridge City Council has no problems with the state legislature’s pending vote in favor of destruction of hundreds of trees and animal habitat between the BU and Longfellow Bridges.  House Bill H4009, §2C, 2890-7020

The Cambridge City Council funded the ongoing starving of the Charles River White Geese as part of a project which created a bizarre wall preventing access from the Charles River to their food on the Magazine Beach playing fields where they have fed for most of the last 35 years.

This is the only portion of the Charles River Basin where the Department of Conservation and Recreation does not chop down bordering vegetation twice a year.

The reprehensible DCR has a goal of killing or driving away all resident animals on the Charles River Basin.  They have a very compatible, equally reprehensible, fellow in the Cambridge City Council.  They helped in Cambridge’s destruction at Alewife.

The Magazine Beach project included destruction of grass which had survived in an environmentally responsible matter for the better part of a century.  Cambridge and the DCR replaced the responsible grass with sickly grass which needs poisons to survive.  Then they destroyed part of the playing fields to put in expensive drainage to drain off the poisons.

Both the Alewife destruction and the Magazine Beach destruction had the same manager.  He is now serving as Cambridge City Manager.  The DCR manager spent years lying that he had “no intent to harm” the Charles River White Geese.

Their highway proposal for the Grand Junction includes more outrages.

I could keep going.

The motion is yet another example of hypocrisy from the environmentally destructive Cambridge City Council, lying that it is holier than thou.

It would be nice if pious noises on environmental matters from the Cambridge City Council would be possible without extreme hypocrisy.

Cambridge, MA Lt. Governor Candidate: Record on civil / human rights, heartless human abuse.

When you are dealing with reality in the City of Cambridge, MA, USA, “They would never stoop so low” can be a very serious and wrong statement to make with regard to Cambridge pols.

Lt. Governor Candidate / City Councilor Cheung and the rest of the Cambridge City Council who were in office in 2011 have a very clear record on civil / women’s / human rights and on heartless human abuse.

This is in addition to heartless animal abuse and  environmental destruction.  And it fits a very distressing pattern.

The name of the key matter on civil / women’s / human rights and on heartless human abuse  is Monteiro v. Cambridge.

This case is one of those rare instances in which a politician has had a very real chance to show where that politician is coming from on a major issue.  Cheung severely failed the test along with the rest of the Cambridge City Council serving with him.

Councilor Cheung was elected on November 13, 2009, and took office at the beginning of January 2010.

The 2011 election saw Councilor Seidel almost certainly fired because of the Monteiro outrage.  The 2013 election probably saw Councilor Reeves fired over the Monteiro outrage.

Malvina Monteiro was the head of the Police Review Board for the City of Cambridge.  She filed a civil rights complaint alleging she was being improperly treated in her job because she is a woman.

The Cambridge City Manager fired her in retaliation for her filing that complaint.

This is not a matter which may properly be described as “alleged.”  This is a matter which has been proven in Court and has been affirmed at the Appeals Court level..

The jury spoke very clearly.  They gave Malvina Monteiro $1.1 million in real damages.

The jury listened to the testimony of Cambridge City Manager. Robert Healy.  Robert Healy explained his heartless destruction of that woman’s life.  The jury gave their opinion of Robert Healy’s behavior.

The jury awarded penal damages in excess of three times the real damages, $3.5 million.

Monteiro received a check for $8,300.000.  Expenditures on the Monteiro case including Outside Counsel ran $10,932.409.00.  Expenditures including five related cases ran $14,569,558.

I have given you a link to the Trial Judge’s opinion.  The Trial Judge went into  detail with regard to the Robert Healy testimony.  The Trial Judge’s opinion of Robert Healy’s actions can be summed up in one word: “Reprehensible.”

I have given you a link to the Appeals Court panel’s opinion which they called not an opinion.

The Appeals Court panel clearly stated their contempt for Cambridge’s appeal by refusing to dignify the appeal with a formal opinion.

A good summary of the Appeals Court panel’s decision / non decision is.  “ample evidence of . . . outrageous misbehavior.”

The batch of court actions gave the Cambridge City Council a highly unusual power.

The Cambridge City Council was placed in a position to fire the Cambridge City Manager for malfeasance in office based on this batch of decisions.

The Cambridge City Council was empowered to fire the Cambridge City Manager for malfeasance in office with no meaningful opportunity of the Cambridge City Manager to challenge his firing for malfeasance in office in court.  The issue of his malfeasance in office was clearly and emphatically decided already.

All of the Cambridge City Manager’s lovely protections in his contract were out the window.

The only real question after the judicial actions was whether Robert Healy could be stripped of his pension, and there is a very good likelihood he could have been stripped of his pension, if the Cambridge City Council were a responsible entity.

The City Solicitor retired in January 2012.  The Cambridge City Manager retired with honor in June / July2013.

Cheung was part of this City Council which saw nothing wrong with the behavior of Robert Healy.

Cheung was part of this City Council which saw nothing wrong with Robert Healy destroying this woman’s life because she stood up to him and because she took actions protected by civil rights law.

Cheung was part of this City Council which simply ignored strong, unequivocal messages from judge, jury, and Appeals Court panel.

There were exactly zero attempts to fire Robert Healy.  There were exactly zero motions to fire Robert Healy.  There were exactly zero votes to fire Robert Healy.

Cheung was one of the City Councilors who saw no evil in spite of very strong statements from jury, judge and Appeals Court panel.

This is Cheung’s record on women’s rights / civil rights / heartless human abuse.

Is this the kind of person who should be sitting a heartbeat away from running the Commonwealth of Massachusetts?

Is this the kind of person who should replace the governor if the governor decides to move on?  The Governor moving on has been  a surprisingly common action in recent decades.

In no way should this analysis be interpreted as saying there is something about Leland Cheung which makes him worse than other City Councilors who have served as long as he has.  That is the problem.  You would have to really look to say that he is worse than any of his fellows..

On environmental, heartless animal abuse, civil rights / women’s rights and heartless human abuse issues, there is almost no difference among the Cambridge City Council incumbents who have served as long as or longer than Cheung, except that the longer serving City Councilors have had more chance to do bad.

In Cambridge, Cheung and the rest of the pols have a massive organization running around lying that Cambridge has a responsible City Council.

Cheung is not in Cambridge now.

I. Introduction.

In my last report, I handled the three versions of this report differently.

I was reporting on a report being received by a committee of the Cambridge City Council on Monday, July 28, 2014.

The blog title was:

“Cambridge, MA, City Council considers further abuse of Charles River White Geese: Grand Junction Outrage”

The title on the normally condensed versions on facebook and transmitted in email was:

“Cambridge, MA, City Council: Lt. Governor candidate supports increase in heartless abuse of beautiful Charles River Residents”

The reason for the different titles and different approach was simple.

This report is international in readership.  The facebook page runs over 525 friends.  Most of them are in Massachusetts.  The email report is almost totally to Cambridge residents.

Thus, the locals would have greater interest and appreciate the slightly different emphasis.

II. Reality.

My letter goes into great documented detail as to the nature of the outrage.

That letter was in front of the Lieutenant Governor candidate when he unequivocally supported this outrage.

Increased heartless animal abuse, destruction of their environment.

III. More background.

It gets monotonous to keep saying the same stuff when people who do not want to know what they are doing keep on saying the same nonsense.

Also on the agenda for Monday’s Cambridge City Council was a report from an alleged environment committee chaired by Cheung.

The report includes the usual holier than thou nonsense which Cambridge pols spout.  This time it was from Cheung proclaiming the environmental sainthood of the government of the City of Cambridge, which includes him.

Additionally on the agenda was my report to the Cambridge City Council on ongoing outrages by the Cambridge City Council.

To make certain that nothing is missed, I am repeating this report in sections IV and V.  Section IV is the substance.  Section V was the beginning of the letter.  It responded in advance to the nonsense I could expect from members of the city council and their accomplices.

I am using roman numerals for my general numbering to avoid confusion with the below numbering.  I have done some clean up work.

1. Charles River — House Bill H4009.

A senate version of House Bill H4009 has been approved and the mess is going to conference committee.

I have provided this City Council with the DCR’s plans for destruction of hundreds of trees between the BU and Longfellow Bridges.  When the DCR sought this money in 2009 from the Obama Great Recession efforts, they lied that this destruction was diseased trees.  I provided you their plans.  There are no diseased trees.

The DCR has bragged about how lovely the area will look in 40 years.

The reality is that this destruction is for the purpose of straightening out Memorial Drive to take off ramp traffic from the Massachusetts Turnpike which is currently being sought under the Bicycle Highway lie.

“Support” has been obtained by the falsely named Charles River “Conservancy” by lying to people that they were seeking support for “underpasses.”  They justified this lie in their announcement of the initial bill, when they called $24 million for this project “incidental” to $4 million for underpasses.

This destruction is an outrage.

The greatest value in it would seem to be as makework for people who make money out of destroying trees and planting saplings.

2. Cambridge Common.

The justification in the ENF with regard to the imminent destruction of the main entrance to the Cambridge Common, and of these excellent trees, shows the contempt for the environment which is the norm of the City of Cambridge.  The ENF states that the trees “block the view” of a monument.  Trees are the view and frame the monument.

This public contempt for the environment is normal in the government of the City of Cambridge.

3. Charles River — Underpasses.

I defer to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation on this.  The Cambridge City Council’s public support directly conflicts with the outrage expressed by MassDOT over the environmental destruction and flat out waste of money.  Another project of principal value to the individuals being paid to do the work.

The extent of the outrage associated with this project includes the reality that the “support” for it turned out to be “support” for destruction of hundreds of trees between the BU and Longfellow Bridges.

4. Charles River — Bicycle Highway, future Massachusetts Turnpike off ramp to Cambridge.

The Grand Junction bike highway makes excellent sense ending at Memorial Drive with a very short connection to Vassar Street at the Vassar Street turn.  Beyond that point it is highly destructive and is a stalking horse for an off ramp from the Massachusetts Turnpike.  Harvard bought its future Medical School home months after the MBTA proved the Grand Junction railroad bridge could be expanded for this purpose.

Fencing would parallel the temporary bike highway between Memorial Drive and the Charles River.  This would restrict movement and perhaps kill the free animals the DCR is fighting to kill off or drive away.

This is just another of pretty much non stop techniques of heartless animal abuse furthering the DCR goal of killing or driving away all resident animals on the Charles River, a policy which demonstrates the vileness and incompetence of the DCR, supported by the Cambridge City Council.

Plans call for bizarre Bike Highway construction in the Destroyed Nesting Area to which the Charles River White Geese have been confined in their heartless starvation by the Cambridge City Council and the DCR.

This construction would be much longer and more destructive than connecting the Bike Highway to Vassar Street at the Vassar Street turn.  But it would make money for the people paid to do it, and assist the DCR / Cambridge’s heartless animal abuse.

5. Charles River — The Charles River White Geese

In the case of the Charles River White Geese, the heartless confinement, deliberate starvation and constant abuse trashes a very valuable tourist attraction and an irreplaceable scientific gem.

This is a gaggle of free animals whose ancestors were domesticated.  This magnificent gaggle has created a viable social structure which has remained intact for 33 years now in spite of corrupt and incompetent governmental entities.

They fed themselves on their own at Magazine Beach until Cambridge and the DCR started to starve them by installing a wall which directly violated constant promises of Cambridge and the DCR.

The heartless attack has constantly been justified by bizarre, corrupt explanations including pretty much non stop lying of “no intent to harm.”  Or they simply have been silent and hidden behind groups with connections to the government of the City of Cambridge.

6. Alewife.

Cambridge has destroyed acres of irreplaceable woodlands for protection against 2 year storms.  The destruction included a mass pogrom of resident animals.

The area needs protection against 100 year storms.  The only way this can responsibly  be done is by underground easements for and construction of massive flood protection tanks.  Smaller examples are present / being constructed  under at least two recent buildings on CambridgePark Drive.  Publicly funded and constructed flood storage tanks are needed under all new building in the area in addition to corresponding structures needed for the buildings, and under whatever else can reasonably be used.

Failure to responsibly plan at Alewife leads to certain, perhaps total destruction of all government holdings in this irreplaceable heritage area.

7. Magazine Beach area.

a. General.

Bizarre lies.  It is very difficult to understate the outrage funded by the Cambridge City Council  here in planning and in implementation  led by the current City Manager.  The current City Manager also supervised the outrage at Alewife.

Cambridge was promised management rights in the playing fields, but that would involve the City Council reviewing of the destruction accomplished with its money.  Management has not been taken.

The situation is so rotten that a miscreant copycatting Cambridge and the DCR’s contempt for wildlife went on a killing spree of resident animals.  The public begged the City Council for protection.  They reminded the City Council that animal abusers frequently graduate to humans.  The Cambridge Chronicle very visibly front paged a memorial for the leader of the gaggle when he was assassinated.  It was conducted on top of the MWRA plant.

The Cambridge City Council was “neutral” with a wink and a nod.

The key miscreant graduated to rape and murder in the location where he had been killing the animals this city council had been abusing and has continued to abuse.

The Cambridge City Council spent an hour discussing the rape and murder and did not want to know where it occurred.

Councilor Davis mentioned the location of the rape and murder.  She looked around guiltily, swallowed her words and returned to the lie of non responsibility of the Cambridge City Council.

b. Bizarre Wall of Introduced Bushes.

The DCR destroys bordering vegetation twice a year along the Charles River.  It has contempt for the natural world.

Magazine Beach is an exception.

The DCR promised a lawn to the river.

The DCR repeatedly insisted it would only allow water related activities on the banks of the Charles River.

Cambridge and the DCR have walled off Magazine Beach with a bizarre wall which blocks water related usage and which has no purpose except to starve the Charles River White Geese as part of the DCR’s reprehensible policy of killing off or driving away all resident animals.  The wall is of introduced vegetation which seems to exist nowhere else on the Charles.

But the wall has a value and its value is consistent with the definition of introduced species.

The wall starves the 33 year resident Charles River White Geese.

c. Destruction of responsible grass, replacement with poison needing grass.

The grass at Magazine Beach survived the better part of a century in an environmentally responsible manner, no poisons.  The DCR loves poisons.  Cambridge and the DCR destroyed the responsible grass and replaced it with grass requiring poisons to survive.

d. Destruction of playing fields.

One of the most important lies in the Magazine Beach outrage was the “improvement” of the playing fields.

But the DCR loves poisons.

So Cambridge and the DCR destroyed playing fields to drain off poisons needed to keep alive sickly grass which replaced healthy grasses which had been there for the better part of a centure.

8. Danehy Park.

Destruction of grass to replace it with plastic?

9. Staffing of the Cambridge Development Department.

These multiple outrages show a severe problem in the Cambridge Development Department.

There are too many “planners” looking for work and for justification of an overstaffed department including their own jobs.

So destruction, destruction, destruction.

Solution:  fire planners.

V. Response to the usual nonsense, in advance.

● The DCR is doing it (or whoever is “responsible”).

Flat out nonsense, The DCR coordinates all destruction with the City of Cambridge and the City of Cambridge pulls whatever connections it can to further the DCR’s destructive paths.  There is no meaningful difference.  There are paper cons, but no meaningful differences.  If there were meaningful differences, the City Manager would be seeking the support of the City Council against whatever the particular outrage is.

● The City of Cambridge has no business governing select matters in the City of Cambridge.

Another cynical piece of nonsense.  On the Charles River in particular, past multiple instances in the record of the Cambridge City Council proves this statement to be a cynical lie.  Notwithstanding this, it is bizarre nonsense for a city which conducts its own foreign policy to claim it has no responsibility for environment outrages being accomplished by its friends within its own city limits.

● The Development Department told me to do it.

● General.

First of all, you are elected by the voters.  It is your job to be  standing up to the Development Department when the Development Department is pursuing vile, destructive activities.

● Demonstrable Major Lying.

An excellent example of the corrupt situation in the Cambridge Development Department is the zoning in the southern part of Cambridgeport.  A number of new zoning districts were created in the period 2000 to 2005 based on the lie that, with the Urban Ring subway coming in, a stop at Putnam Avenue and the Grand Junction would justify the zoning.

The staff’s preferred Urban Ring alternative is only one of two.  The staff lied to the Cambridge City Council that their preferred alternative  was only one possible Urban Ring option.

The much more likely alternative, the Kenmore Crossing, was proposed by me in 1986.  It was adopted as one of two options by the MBTA in 1991.  The Kenmore Crossing option has received state subsidies with regard to the rebuilding in place of Yawkey Station as part of a massive project.  The staff preferred alternative (BU Bridge Crossing) needs Yawkey Station to be moved three blocks for its environmentally irresponsible option to approach having any level or reasonableness..

Last I heard (a couple of years ago), this lie continued to be the “truth” supported by the Cambridge Development department some 23 years after this lie was demonstrably a lie.

● Heartless animal abuse.

Nonstop key in so many projects, especially the DCR’s, is contempt for our world.  Casual killing off / heartless abuse of  free animals is vile.

The DCR has a policy in its Charles River Master Plan of killing off or driving away as many resident animals it can get away with.

Cambridge has repeatedly aided in this outrage in multiple projects on the Charles River and the two killed off massive numbers of animals at Alewife in that continuing, destructive outrage.

Monday evening, July 28, 2014, the Cambridge City Council will consider a report on ramping up their heartless abuse of the 33 year resident Charles River White Geese.  My report on the report is below.

Two members of the Cambridge City Council support the proposal without reservation and thus clearly support the ramping up of the heartless abuse of the Charles River White Geese.

That excellent grove which is among hundreds on Memorial Drive slated for destruction as part of the legislature’s is consideration oif $32 million for destruction along with habitat and heartless animal abuse.   The is House Bill H4009, §2C, 2890-7020, approved by the Massachusetts House of Representative.  The State Senate correlative has passed their version.  The two are in conference committee seeking common language for a final vote.

g. Starvation wall.

The Charles border of Magazine Beach before the outrage paid for by the Cambridge City Council and the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The Charles border with its starvation wall, first two  from the Cambridge side and then from the Boston side.  As part of this outrage, the Cambridge City Council, destroyed playing fields for expensive drainage system to drain off poisons.  The poisons are “needed” to keep alive sickly grass introduced after destruction of responsible grass that survived without poisons for the better part of a century.

The Charles River White Geese looking for food in the future location of the Off Ramp / fake bike highway.  The goal is to widen this underpass under Memorial Drive wide enough to hold the off ramp.  To the left of the railroad would be installed fencing to divide up the natural area under attack, and thus assist the DCR’s goal of killing off / driving away all animal residents.

The Charles River White Geese and all other free animals would be barred from going from the area to the left of the photo to the area to the right of the photo.

I have avoided Leland Cheung’s campaign for Lieutenant Governor.  I have heard too much holier than thou nonsense without going out of my way to hear more.

3. General Introduction.

Monday, July 28, 2014, the Cambridge City Council will receive a report of a committee considering further heartless abuse of the Charles River White Geese.

The report will have attached to it my response and my detailed evaluation of the harm.  My response is buried as far as possible.

As is the custom of the reprehensible government of the City of Cambridge, the really rotten stuff is kept as secret as possible.

The map I reproduced in section 1 is buried.  Detailed presentation of the impact of their proposal keeps impact south of Memorial Drive, the heartless animal abuse, secret by omission.  The rest of the area impacted is presented.

My presentations includes the best map I have available, the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s tree destruction map which is part of the outrage in front of the legislature in H4009.

The committee report seems to be saying to sit on the recommendation for the time being pending negotiations and other updates.

4. Proudly guilty city councilors.

Two members of the Cambridge City Council support the report including without reservation the ramping up of the heartless abuse of the Charles River White Geese.

Lieutenant Governor Candidate and City Councilor Leland Cheung.

City Councilor and former School Committee Member Marc McGovern.

Cheung publicly looks like the city councilor representing the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.

McGovern is the only member of the Cambridge City Council who  publicly supported and encouraged the outrage at Magazine Beach.  The benefits he bragged about have not only not been delivered, but the opposite has occurred.

McGovern claims only to be responsible for the good aspects of his position, not the bad.  But there are no good aspects.  His position is cynically hypocritical, not even including the fact he delivered exactly the opposite of what he claimed to be fighting for, and has never, to my knowledge, attempted to get delivered what he promised.

5. Supplement, conflicting information on Destroyed Nesting Area, as usual, in report.

On looking this reprehensible document over further, they seem to have multiple plans on the table for the Destroyed Nesting Area of the Charles River White Geese.

My comment above referred to the absence in the structure of reference to the Destroyed Nesting Area.  They have stuck in some pretty rotten stuff.

In accordance with the reprehensible goals of the Department of Conservation and Recreation, which they support and aid, they do not mention the residents, the gaggle of the Charles River White Geese whom they are deliberately starving and who would be devastated by adding this outrage to the attacks at Magazine Beach.

Also not publicized is the vile DCR goal of killing off or driving away all animals residing in the Charles River Basin.  This contempt for animal residents comports with the pogrom of resident animals included in the mass destruction at Alewife.

Key in the map of the Grand Junction Path is a detailed path proposal which conflicts with the apparent overall plans and is inconsistent with other parts of this report.

The map of the Grand Junction path is on pages 9 and 8, straight down the Grand Junction.  Page 21 provides the same rot in detail.  The map I have included above is from the 2006 study which is incorporated by reference.  In it, they do a loop around the ghetto to which they are heartlessly abusing the Charles River White Geese.  The report calls for a fence to run the entire length of the bike highway between it and the railroad.

Sneaked in at the end of this document is highly outrageous stuff, business as usual when you are working with these destructive people.

Page 24 gives. detailed and destructive plans for the Destroyed Nesting Area.

It does not seem to include the path which is the basis of all the other maps.

This map shows the Governor Patrick Bike Highway running under the BU Bridge.  This highway is the reason for the only opening in the starvation wall.

It is marked “Charles River Master Plan”.  This “master plan” lied that their were providing a lawn to the river at Magazine Beach, and also calls for killing or driving away all resident animals.

The Governor Patrick Underpass apparently connects to the path system which has been created.  It puts a staircase in in the most sensitive part of the Destroyed Nesting Area and runs a bike highway from the northwest corner to the Grand Junction Bridge.  They repeat the fence dividing the parts of the wild areas east of this highway.  They create yet another apparent foot highway from the staircase to the Governor Patrick Underpass.

How the bikes would get to this bike highway from the Grand Junction bike highway is not explained.

Page 34 calls for an outrageous widening of the right of way in the free animal area.
