1. Summary.

a. Introductory.

A few years ago, the Massachusetts legislature attempted to destroy the entity which created the irresponsible plans for destruction of hundreds of excellent trees between the BU and Longfellow Bridges on the Cambridge side of the Charles River.

Part of the destruction of the irresponsible entity worked.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has taken over the bridges over the Charles River and they have stood up to the destructive City of Cambridge and to the rump entity whose name was changed from the Metropolitan District Commission to the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The key rotters from the prior entity moved to the DCR and now are calling the shots for the rest of the Charles River without missing a beat.

They even have sneaked through legislation authorizing destruction based on 2009 plans (bragged to be 19th Century plans) without any meaningful public communication.

In fact, the DCR is rather clearly slapping the face of the local cheerleaders controlled by the City of Cambridge who have been fighting for this destruction as a company union for years.

The DCR is conducting fake public input on irresponsible plans for the Magazine Beach playing fields, just west of the BU Bridge. The massive logging proposed is east of the BU Bridge, running to the Longfellow Bridge. The DCR is refusing any form of input in their "public meetings" on the massive loggings.

They do not even allow the fraudulent public input they are allowing concerning the most irresponsible parts of the Magazine Beach proposal. It is no coincidence that the person representing the DCR has been part of this outrage from the beginning.

The same policy applies in both situations: "public input" on everything except the irresponsible behavior.

The irresponsible behavior is not negotiable.

a. Photos of the doomed Cherry Grove.

In section 3, I am doing photos of the doomed Cherry Grove at the Memorial Drive split.

They are doomed because folks in the 19th Century did not think of Cherry Trees then. That gives a rotten organization the right to destroy and destroy and destroy.

There is also a magnificent willow they are destroying, and other excellent trees like the one looming over the ghetto to which the Charles River White Geese have been consigned without food.

The willow is in Section 4.  As for the others, I have reached my limit for graphics, according to the blog computer.

At the "public meeting" last night, the DCR’s legislative liaison gave yet another "reason" for the logging. He claims the trees he is fighting to destroy are not allowed to be planted. They are not allowed to be planted, so he claims that justifies fully grown adult, and magnificent, trees?

It get worse because he will only discuss the trees for which saplings are prohibited. The fraud is that he falsely communicates that that is all he is destroying. But the cherry trees being destroyed approach if not exceed the 150 trees the DCR claims it is destroying. If you go beyond that fraud, the real number is 250 or more, but the lies gives better sounding percentages.

In any case, the new photos are in sections 3 and 4.

c. Reason changes again.
An additional game is that the DCR has routinely been varying its explanation depending on the audience. Boston residents who have been fighting for destruction may have taken a hike, so the pitch used to bring them in has disappeared, at least for the time being..

Depending on the audience, the story is back to the original one: Won’t it look great in 40 years?

In particular, these sick people have that holy grail they have not mentioned for awhile: plans for the Charles River from the 19th Century.

Since the folks who wrote those plans could not think of cherry trees, cherry trees are being massively destroyed, almost all of them. The same would appear to apply to that magnificent willow, and a whole bunch of excellent trees.

Another ongoing lie, as well, is that they are destroying diseased trees or trees which are in the way of their gold plated highways.

They do not mention the fact that there are no diseased trees or next to no diseased trees.

The lie comes from the omission of the non existence or near non existence of diseased trees.

So they use "or" with next to nothing on one side of the "or".

But the cheerleaders love it. They can claim to be on the side of sainthood, even if the alternative wording is just another blatant fraud.

Last I heard, however, the poor dears from the DCR will not even document their claims of disease, obviously because they cannot and are determined to destroy the evidence as soon as possible by destroying excellent healthy trees.

And the Boston Globe swallowed the flat out lie in 2009 that all trees being destroyed are diseased.

d. Apparently clear fraud.

As near as I can figure out, the lobbying effort in the legislature amounted to the falsely named Charles River "Conservancy" showing a petition for underpasses under three bridges further out on the Charles. It appears that they lied that the petition for underpasses supported this massive destruction, without, of course, mentioning the destruction. The words obviously used fit the claim of the name that this entity is conserving the Charles River rather than fighting for its destruction.

Thus, the $20 million looks like it was obtained through outright fraud.

The falsely named Charles River "Conservancy" openly supported this destruction about ten years ago when fraud was not the in thing. The destruction has not changed. They are still using that fake name as well, giving the Legislature the impression that they are the good guys.

Fraud is now the open tool.

And then you have another fake group fighting for destruction with the falsehood of being a neighborhood association "concerned" about the Charles River.

The Cambridge "City Council" is belligerently environmentally destructive, with falsehoods claiming sainthood about far less important issues than massive tree destruction, and heartless animal abuse. They voted in favor of the three underpasses which the falsely name group claims puts them in support of the massive logging.

With the Cambridge "City Council", however you have the reality that silence in the face of circumstances which call for outrage is consent.

e. Summation.

The DCR is unfit to manage the environment. This outrage should be ended, and the DCR stripped of more of its responsibilities on the Charles River. The responsibilities should be transferred to the Department of Transportation which took over the DCR’s responsibilities for the bridges across the Charles River. MassDOT is not perfect. The DCR approaches being perfect from the wrong direction.

MassDOT has shown its willingness and capability to stand up to the DCR and to its partner in destruction, the City of Cambridge.

Part of the transfer would be that portion of Boston's Soldiers Field Road from the BU Bridge to its end in Brighton, an area which MassDOT is currently planning in the Mass. Pike reorganization. Cambridge's  Memorial Drive from the BU Bridge to the Longfellow Bridge should be transferred to protect it from the vileness of the DCR.

Internet Email form: http://www.mass.gov/governor/constituent-services/contact-governor-office/
These destructive people are people from the bureaucracy which reports to him, using money allocated by the opposing party. It would be very much to the governor’s advantage to save the people of Massachusetts from the costs of this outrageous boondoggle, financially, politically, environmentally, and from protecting the animals of the Charles River from an acceleration of heartless animal abuse in which Cambridge and the bureaucrats are belligerently guilty.

Additionally, the City of Cambridge approaches being a one party state, and the party is the opposite party of that to which the governor belongs.

Letters can be sent c/o City Clerk, City of Cambridge, 795 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139. They should include a cover letter asking that that the letter be made part of the communications to the Cambridge City Council at their next meeting.  Because of the timing, letters could be a waste of time.

Formal Email Communications to the Cambridge City Council can be done in a similar manner. The City Clerk’s email address is dlopez@cambridgema.gov. These become part of the formal record. The above address is recorded but not part of the formal package. The above address, however, is immediate, as opposed to the next Monday night when they have a meeting. 1. Summary.

a. Photos from today, November 15, 2015

Things are moving too fast.

I just came through what currently looks like the destruction area.  It looks like all tree protections are up west of the Mass. Ave. Bridge.  That would include nine more trees not yet destroyed.

I have not gone back to that area because the eastern end seems to have seen a start to destruction starting to the east of the BU Boathouse.

Games.  I understand that legislation has been sneaked through which validates destruction here even years after the normal expiration of permits.

I have been working from 2009 plans which seems now to be golden.  Of interest, however, is trees which are not six years old and thus not reported on the plans.  Destruction seems to have started with them, without approval with the 2009 plan.

Naturally, all destruction is kept as secret as possible.

Before and after photos of the area west of the boathouse are in section 3.

b. Reason changes again.

An additional game is that the DCR has routinely been varying its explanation depending on the audience.  Boston residents who have been fighting for destruction may have taken a hike, so the pitch used to bring them in has disappeared, at least for the time being..

The story is back to the original one: Won’t it look great in 40 years?

Charles River destruction pending: Governor Letter objecting to Fraud on the legislature in addition to the outrage for which the fraud was used.

Charles River destruction pending: Governor Letter objecting to Fraud on the legislature in addition to the outrage for which the fraud was used.

1. Introduction.
2. Contact Information to prevent this outrage.
3. Letter to Governor Charles Baker, hand delivered November 10, 2015.
4. Attachments to Governor Baker Letter.

1. Introduction.

I have published many reports on the imminent massive destruction on the Charles River in Cambridge, MA.

I have not done many posts in the last few days. That is a result of all the work I have been doing on this issue, plus I am a professional movie actor. I commuted 75 miles each way to a movie shoot which lasted 11 hours yesterday. I was able to supplement my report of November 12 before reporting to the set.

Manipulation is being done in the legislature to get this destruction accomplished as fast as possible. They have a lot to be ashamed of and are trying to make this outrage permanent before responsible people catch them. The problem appears to be clearly a unanimous Cambridge delegation.
In section 3 is the complaint to the Governor of Massachusetts which I hand delivered on November 10. It very prominently objects to the fraud which has been used to fight for this outrage. Some photos I have been wanting to post here are included in the letter.

I would suggest that, should the governor have asked for an explanation from the Department of Conservation and Recreation, the answer, to the extent honest, would demonstrate their lack of fitness to do their job.

A reasonable response on the part of the governor, especially given the outrageous fast track being pursued, would be emergency legislation to transfer to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation DCR responsibilities on the Charles River as follows:

On the Cambridge side: from the Longfellow Bridge to the BU Bridge.

On the Boston side: from the BU Bridge to the end of Soldiers Field Road.

MassDOT is fully capable of promptly ending this outrage if given the power to do so.

Charles River Imminent Destruction, Editor's Update, City Council Letter

Charles River Imminent Destruction, Editor's Update, City Council Letter

1. Introduction.
2. Contact Information to prevent this outrage.
3. Letter to Cambridge City Council, November 12, 2015.
4. Supplement, November 13, 2015.

1. Introduction.

I have not done many posts in the last few days.  That is a result of all the work I have been doing on this issue.

I am a professional movie actor.  Tomorrow I will be commuting 75 miles each way for background work to a movie shoot which, itself, could run 10 to 12 hours.  It will be very difficult to get something out tomorrow.

During the past week, I have added a lot of photos of imminent carnage, and I have hoped to post them.  Maybe I can get out another report today.

But this update is necessary.

It looks like major games are being played in the Massachusetts legislature.  It is highly likely that all members of the Cambridge delegation have filthy hands.

Tuesday, November 10, 2015, I filed a complaint in hand with Governor Charles Baker.

It runs 15 pages and does an excellent photo job of the imminent outrage.  It includes one copy each of all of the 2009 destruction plans which, increasingly are the basis for the outrage.  It attempts to match targets to plan pages.

The graphics of the plans are reduced in size to keep the Internet happy.  Attached to the governor’s letter is a DVD with much larger files.  I have posted these plans, reduced, at http://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2014/04/tree-destruction-plans-charles-river.html.  This was in my transmittal to the Cambridge City Council about a year and a half ago.

The second attachment to the Governor’s letter is my letter in September to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation communicating the real record of the Department of Conservation and Recreation on the Charles River.  This letter ran 20 pages.  That letter is posted at http://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/2015/09/charles-river-massdot-plan-for-mass.html.

The third attachment to the Governor’s letter is my letter in response to the fraud of “public input.”  The DCR is giving public input on irresponsible plans at Magazine Beach, and will then ignore the really important stuff.  This public input is the usual fraud.  They started their tree destruction project days before the supposed public input session and are giving no public input on the real horror.

Today, I have transmitted the Governor’s letter to the Cambridge City Council, with the two letter attachments the DVD is a copy of a document in the files of the Cambridge Conservation Commission.  It seemed rather duplicative to include it.

This transmittal is mostly ceremonial because they will not meet to November 23, 2015.

The letter will be posted next Friday by the City Clerk.  That will very probably be too late.  I will put up a link to that posting as soon as I can.  The Governor’s letter, in particular, is excellent.

To put you in touch with a little of this, I am copying the letter to the Cambridge City Council in the last section.

2. Contact Information to prevent this outrage.

Governor Baker: 617-725-4005, 888-870-7770 (888 free in state)
Email form:    http://www.mass.gov/governor/constituent-services/contact-governor-office/

Cambridge City Council: 617-349-4280, council@cambridgema.gov

Letters can be sent c/o City Clerk, City of Cambridge, 795 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02139.  They should include a cover letter asking that that the letter be made part of the communications to the Cambridge City Council.

Because of the timing, formal emails could be a waste of time.

Legislators: 617-722-2000, http://charlesriverwhitegeeseblog.blogspot.com/201304/emails-for-all massachusetts.html

But remember, destruction is imminent.  The Governor appears to be the best bet.  This is a democratic boondoggle.  The governor is republican, and he should have capabilities to stall his people at minimum while fighting for responsible government.  That letter to him by me is a beauty.

3. Letter to Cambridge City Council, November 12, 2015.

City Council, City of Cambridge
c/o City Clerk
795 Massachusetts Avenue
Cambridge, MA 02139

TO THE HONORABLE, THE CAMBRIDGE CITY COUNCIL:

This letter is written individually and as chair of Friends of the White Geese, a non profit recognized by the Attorney General since 2002.  Our mission is to protect the Charles River, its water, its animals, its land, its trees and related from destructive environmental behavior, especially by government entities.

This will formalize my emails and provide much more detail than possible therein.

Enclosed is my letter of November 10, 2015, hand delivered to Governor Baker.

It is incorporated herein by reference including its attachments 2 and 3.  Attachment 1 is my electronic copy of the files of the Cambridge Conservation Commission.  I think the CCC files are adequate.  They are incorporated by reference as well, and are available to you should you so wish.

Please immediately stop the outrage in process on Memorial Drive.

Memorial Drive is certainly much closer than much of the national and international matters which have concerned you.  At a the public meeting to the DCR letter refers, the DCR stated its intent to transfer to you total control of Magazine Beach in accordance with the agreements concerning the outrages there.  The DCR statement was that the only delay in transfer is the will of the City of Cambridge.

In addition to your control of Magazine Beach, you have taken a number of actions with regard to Memorial Drive in the recent past and have various actions pending.

In particular, it would appear that the falsely named Charles River “Conservancy” in its lobbying for this destruction falsely communicated concerning the petitions it provided to the General Court concerning underpasses under the River Street, Western Avenue and Anderson Bridges.  My understanding from the CRC’s first communication about pending legislative funding was that support for underpasses under the River Street, Western Avenue and Anderson Bridges included support for this outrage between the BU Bridge and the Longfellow Bridge.

In addition to obtaining an immediate stop to the outrage between the BU and Longfellow Bridges, I think you should correct the record and inform all entities that you do not support the destruction which is imminent on Memorial Drive between the BU and Longfellow Bridge, that you never have, and that your public support for the underpasses under the next three bridges does not include the massive destruction which is imminent between the BU and Longfellow Bridges.

In the current matter, as well, please note in particular, the fraudulent omission of hundreds of trees located between the Grand Junction railroad tracks and the BU Boathouse, as well as noting the retaining wall, which has consistently been kept secret in public discussions.

Please note the changes which have occurred that render outdated the 2009 plans.  These changes are spelled out in the governor’s letter and occur in the woods between the BU Boathouse and the Hyatt Regency Hotel, and in the magnificent but condemned cherry grove at the Memorial Drive split.

Please also note the latest outrageous con game being inflicted on Memorial Drive by the DCR as stated in more detail in the DCR letter.

Please also note my comments in the MassDOT letter praising the Cambridge Conservation Commission for two past actions.

The attached package with a different cover letter is being delivered pretty much simultaneously to the Cambridge Conservation Commission.

Thank you in advance for your immediate actions.

4. Supplement, November 13, 2015.

Even when you are dealing with an entity as belligerently destructive as the Cambridge City Council, it is tempting to give in to being nice.

I gave in to the temptation for niceness in the letter in section 3.

When dealing with an entity such as the Cambridge City Council, silence in circumstances which call for outrage is support.

Nevertheless, based on the subsequent comments by the falsely named Charles River “Conservancy,” it is silly to consider its statements to the legislature as stated above anything other than fraud.

Based on common sense, it is silly to consider the name under which the falsely named Charles River “Conservancy” presents itself in its ongoing fight for destruction on the Charles River anything other than flat out fraud.

They have no business representing themselves to anybody as fighting to CONSERVE the Charles River.

Charles River: Logging preliminary photos - eighth photos condemned cherry strand and neighbors revisited, update on the ground

Charles River: Logging preliminary photos - eighth photos condemned cherry strand and neighbors revisited, update on the ground

1. Summary.
2 Eighth photos of pending destruction, from October 26, November 5, and earlier.
3. DCR celebrates commercialization of Magazine Beach, proceed with insulting “review” of much less destructive work there, keeps massive destruction as secret as possible.
4. General reports of interest.
5. Past Reports in THIS series, and key communications to government agencies.
a. Communications to Public Agencies — Cambridge City Council, destruction plans; MassDOT proposing sanctions; DCR adding to the sanctions.
b. Past Reports in this series.

1. Summary.

This is the most recent report on the imminent logging by the Department of Conservation and Recreation on Memorial Drive on the Charles River.

My blog will not handle all the photos at once.  So I am presenting them in sequence.  This follows on prior reports with the destruction plans, and other photos, plus suggestions on added sanctions for the previously legislatively punished agency in question.

I have gone as far east as the excellent and doomed cherry orchard at the Memorial Drive split, with related trees.  I have some more photos of this eastern area, but am deferring them to update the fully condemned cherry strand at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

It looks like the area east to the doomed cherry orchard has as much tree protection as can be expected, but there has been different activity there, plus I really did not do that good a job on the photos in the area.  Additionally, the vileness has gotten clearer.

The “approvals” received by the DCR for this outrage are non existent.  They simply asked for money without saying what they were doing.  The DCR has announced a second public meeting for the irresponsible, but far less destructive proposal at Magazine Beach.  That proceeds with the fraud of being a responsible entity.

Naturally, the massive destruction is kept as secret as possible.

As near as I can figure out, the lobbying effort in the legislature amounted to the falsely named Charles River “Conservancy” showing a petition for underpasses under three bridges further out on the Charles.  It appears that they lied that the petition for underpasses supported this massive destruction, without, of course, mentioning the destruction.

The falsely named Charles River “Conservancy” openly supported this destruction about ten years ago when fraud was not the in thing.  The destruction has not changed.  Fraud is now the open tool.

And then you have another fake group fighting for destruction with the falsehood of being a neighborhood association “concerned” about the Charles River.

The “City Council” is belligerently environmentally destructive, with falsehoods claiming sainthood about far less important issues than massive tree destruction, and heartless animal abuse.

2 Eighth photos of pending destruction, from October 26, November 5, and earlier.

Here are the destruction plans for the areas near the Hyatt Regency Hotel.  These plans were part of the total package provided to the Cambridge City Council.  Please see section 5 below for a link to full transmittal letter and plans.

The middle plan with the extremely thick destruction (dark circles) is opposite the street shown in the first photo below.  The first is to the west.  The third is to the east.

All plans may be viewed in detail by double clicking.  The quality is excellent when viewed that way.

Here are some photos of the totally doomed cherry trees opposite the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Memorial Drive in Cambridge.  Since then, it looks like protection work for the non doomed trees has been completed.  Every tree in this strand is doomed.

The first photo is taken from street containing the Hyatt.  The tree on the left is NOT CONDEMNED.  The ones straight ahead are.

This magnificent tree to the east of the cherry strand was photographed on November 5, after leaves have fallen.

Excellent, simply excellent, totally unprotected in the middle of apparently final protections, and doomed.

The buoys have been added to the Charles in recent days, very clearly as part of this outrage.

And here is a winter photo of the Charles River White Geese whose Destroyed Nesting Area is almost certain to be wiped out as callously as the DCR and Cambridge have been deliberately starving them.  The nesting area is the plan immediately to the west of the first plan reproduced.

That plan is as follows:

This plan outright lies about the imminent destruction of hundreds of trees in between.  The railroad tracks run at an angle in the middle.  Hundreds of trees east of the railroad tracks are simply not shown.  One undestroyed tree out of this thick woods is shown.

Since the DCR lies that this woods does not exist, there is no telling what kind of notice will be given as to the destruction of these hundreds of trees.

3. DCR celebrates commercialization of Magazine Beach, proceeds with insulting “review” of much less destructive work there, keeps massive destruction as secret as possible.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation is destroying hundreds of trees and animal habitat with no public presentation whatsoever.

The substitute is a public presentation of the much less irresponsible outrage at Magazine Beach, include heartless starving of the Charles River White Geese, continuation of and expanding of use of poisons, continuation of the never justified starvation wall, and the destruction of the little guys parking lot.  ALL ARE NON NEGOTIABLE.

These are outrageous, but a pittance compared to the outrage construction between the BU and Longfellow Bridges including probable further destruction of the Destroyed Nesting Area of the Charles River White Geese in addition to those hundreds of excellent trees.  Which has started in lockstep with this fake review.

But they proudly proclaim that they are having public comment, and it is sponsored by the usual Cambridge type fake group.   Naturally, the lie of omission with all the even worse stuff being secret.

4. General reports of interest.

This is a strikingly short summary of fake groups in the City of Cambridge and their use to lie to the population that Cambridge and its accomplices are responsible entities while fighting, fighting, fighting for destruction.  With me on the responsible side with a lot of very major victories as my time allows, and as I see an opening.
